Hillary's America

A pretty decent documentary that does a fair job of exposing the history behind the Democratic party that's been so whitewashed over the years it's mind-boggling. It does a fair job covering Hillary's flaws, but most of the film is spent focused on the party itself. Recommended for those who forgot which party championed slavery, the KKK, Jim Crow laws, eugenics, etc.

48 Hrs.

Hardly what I would call a Buddy Movie. I mean, the characters Nick Nolte and Eddie Murphy played could barely stand each other. Then again, so could Riggs and Murtaugh. Great duo and great action. Mr. Magic recommends it.

Oliver Stone's JFK. The movie still holds up all these years later.

Basic Instinct (1992)

Been in a mood for early 90s suspense and this movie delivers. I think I enjoyed it more so because it was filmed more or less where I grew up and it was cool seeing a 90s San Francisco. Lots of T&A and a very edgy movie, even by today's standards.

Training Day

Gritty, brutal, any way you look at it, it's a movie that's tough as nails. I like how it starts at sunrise and ends at nightfall. Very fitting.

La-La Land, which I swear has nothing do with it being in the headlines a few nights ago. I had it sitting around on my pc since december and only got around to watching it recently.

It's pretty good. Not so good that I'm upset about it not winning Best Picture, but overall worth watching if you still haven't seen it. The whole thing is basically one big shoutout/tribute to old hollywood musicals, which should appeal to fans of that particular slice of retro (looking at you, Superman).

My mom really loved it though.

The women of New Vegas ask me a lot if there's a Mrs. New Vegas. Well, of course there is! You're her. And you're still just as perfect as the day we met.

License To Drive (1988)

10/10 --- I remember watching some of this years ago but never watched the whole movie but i'm so happy that i finally did because i liked it so much. I liked everything about it, the actors, music, cars, 80's, everything. I thought it was really funny. This is just another of many reasons why i like stuff from the 1980's so much. I wasn't even alive yet but i have always thought that time period seemed so cool. I wish i watched this a lot sooner.

X-Men: Apocalypse

7/10

Very entertaining, one of the better X-Men movies in the franchise. It was also a ninja Magneto origins story.

Still suffers from some of the same gaps in logic. The beginning scene has Apocalypse falling in a bottomless pit like he's about to go to the center of the earth and then when he's uncovered he's only buried like twelve feet deep.

Also, I'm still trying to wrap my head around how Angel could beat Blob in a cage match

KONG Skull Island 8/10

Really great rumble in the jungle! The movie looks gorgeous and in between the nonstop monster fights there were plenty of laugh out loud moments. It doesn't hold a candle to the original but is definitely a crowd pleaser! Also, stay for the end credits scene!

Charlotte's Web (Live-action)

Very good re-telling of the animated classic, but as far as realistic talking pigs go, Babe (Voiced by Christine Cavanaugh.) still remains my favorite. I love that movie!

I must say though, Julia Roberts did just as good a job voicing Charlotte as Debbie Reynolds did.
