On Golden Pond (1981)

I spent about 15 minutes browsing Netflix and Amazon Prime for a movie to watch. This is a normal ordeal for me and after going back and forth between Friday the 13th and Blood Diamond, I came across On Golden Pond and thought to myself, "A movie about an elderly couple spending the summer at their lake house? Now that's a movie I'd never watch, I'll watch it." Pleasantly surprised, it was odd not experiencing one explosion (Although Henry Fonda's character did start a fire on accident in the living room)

Nice calm movie, good story and hit the feels a tad in the end.

3.5/5

I have no idea why, but I was dragged along by my parents to watch this movie in the theater. I only recall feeling sad during some parts. Since that day in the early 80's, I haven't seen it since.

You guys have been hoggin' this thread for too long. Amazon keeps bugging me to do more with my Prime membership. So I watched "Hellboy". A well executed film, with a few gratuitous CGI scenes. I had to see John Hurt again as Hellboy's "dad". What a brave death scene, really effectively underplayed.

Give it 4 out of 5 stars.

Hellboy is great. Ron Perlman really makes the role his own, so that's fun to watch. I keep meaning to read more of the comics, though. I love the little I've read.

The women of New Vegas ask me a lot if there's a Mrs. New Vegas. Well, of course there is! You're her. And you're still just as perfect as the day we met.

It's so cool to see Ron in a project that wasn't a "Western". Ron took the role of "Hellboy" and made the character his own. I can't imagine any other actor in that role.

Recently saw A Dog's Purpose. Was a nice movie. Some parts were sad but overall I liked it.

^ I heard that movie was being protested on account of leaked footage showing a trainer forcing a German Shepherd into a pool of running water.

The Labyrinth (1986)

I hadn't watched this film completely through in forever, but did so today with the family. Still a great film with lots of fun action and well done effects. A testament to Jim Henson's commitment to quality.
