Creepozoids (1987)

8/10 Great full moon movie. Great special effects. Linnea Quigley is great as usual in this.

My DVD of Guardians of the Galaxy is getting quite the workout. I just love this film because it harkens back in format to the action/sci fi serials of the early 20th century. In fact I'm convinced that Guardians of the Galaxy is so popular because it borrows heavily from successful movies of the past.

Love that "Raiders of the Lost Ark" vibe in the movie's opening with the added plus of retro 70's music along with the title card graphics.

But let me get right to it, a movie like this lives or dies by the villain - Ronan gets the thumbs-up from me

Ronan starts with his grand entrance, then cuts a fine figure in his "evil villain" garb. But what caught my attention was his scene with Thanos where Ronan gets called "BOY", nice and loud!

Did you see that glare in Ronan's eyes, and the way he stuck out his bottom lip? I just howled with laughter, love it when the main villain gets a verbal "bitch slap" so early in the film.

But ohhh that dramatic final scene when Ronan is ready to destroy Xandar and Quill starts dancing!

Let me just say, Guardians of the Galaxy is a keeper.

Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2

Funny and thrilling. There's just a couple of problems:

1: It didn't have that Die Hard feel the other one had. 2: Why the heck did this take place in a hotel instead of a mall?!

3 stars.

I really liked GOTG myself. That's one I wanna see again.

It made me fall in love with song "Come and Get Your Love"

Hey crow, when I select a streaming service I plan to catch Mall Cop 2, because 3 stars is a go to me!

Thanks Vaporman, I also fell for "Guardians" when the movie started with 10cc's "I'm Not In Love", still one of the most amazing songs from the mid-70's. I still meet guys who can't believe how old that song is!

Guardians was a blast and totally exceeded my expectations! I love the visuals and the songs like Fooled Around and Fell in Love. Def need to own this one!

It was alright for a sequel. I still felt it could've been better.

Most cape movies bore the [stinky brown stuff] outta me, but I have to admit I really enjoyed Guardians. I think the fact that it felt a lot more like an old fashioned space opera helped.

The Rope and The Colt (aka Cemetery without Crosses) (1969)
This little known Western, co-written by Dario Argento (!) has a lot of interesting touches, like minimal dialogue and a character who lives in a ghost town. It's not the typical gritty, gunfight-a-minute spaghetti western, but I believe it's worth watching for that very reason.

Oh, and the music is great too (of course!).

The women of New Vegas ask me a lot if there's a Mrs. New Vegas. Well, of course there is! You're her. And you're still just as perfect as the day we met.
