@vkimo: Awww... sorry it wasn't up to snuff for you. I actually enjoyed it. I think it was the best of the sequels (nothing will ever top the first one, naturally). My friend actually called the mosasaurus eating the hybrid, but I had no clue that was in the cards.
The Goonies
What is there to say that hasn't yet been said? It's a true classic. Here's to hoping for a successful and fun sequel.

8/10 This might be my favorite out of the three 9/11 movies i have watched. |

Minions
A good family flick, and a good addition to the Despicable Me franchise. Nothing spectacular, but entertaining for sure. Gru makes a cameo appearance too. 3/5 You love this signature.

6/10 Ok slasher movie in a hospital |

I watched Minions last night with my youngest daughter. She is a hug fan of the little yellow critters, so of course she enjoyed it. And I enjoyed it too. It was fun enough to hold my attention, which is more than I can say for a lot of the stuff my daughters like to see.
I'd call it a 710. My daughter calls it a 13/10. Tonight's feature at our house is going to be Tomb Raider 2. We watched the first one last weekend and the girls loved it and have been waiting anxiously all week to see the sequel. www.retroramblings.com

Mystery Men (6/10)
Endearing, but a lot of its jokes fall flat or feel frustrated. One of the things I never noticed before is how awesome Champion City looks, it's like a cross between Blade Runner and Batman and Robin. Also, there is an urban legend that Tim Burton secretly directed this movie and used Kinka Usher as a fake name. Unlikely, but kinda cool to think about! Bonus points for Michael Bay as a frat boy Sit back, relax, listen to some Smash Mouth, and "ofcourse you can bring the brewskies." |

The Town that Dreaded Sundown (2014)
(2.75 out of 5) It was nice to see the old Orion logo back in action. That really put me in the 80's mood for a horror flick. Too bad it didn't deliver. Had a cool plot involving the original film and some great cinematopgrahy, otherwise it was a pretty paint by numbers "who's the killer" film. |

Vaporman87 wrote :I gave it 3 stars, so it wasn't a complete disappointment. I just felt the movie was pandering to the audience too much. It was like they took the best scenes from the previous films and reshot them. Like the hybrid trying to get into the sphere was very reminiscent of T-Rex and the Ford Explorer. T-Rex duking it out with Spinosaurus in 3 was also replicated with the hybrid. |

vkimo wrote :Yeah, there's no doubt that they use similar imagery in this one. I think for some that is a bonus. But too much of it can make it feel like a rehash. I think there were just enough original ideas to make it enjoyable, but still it does feel like we've "been there, done that". You love this signature.
