Kite (2014)

7/10 A cool action movie based on the anime of the same name. I haven't watched the anime yet but the movie was good.

The Babadook (2014)

I heard great things about this movie, it has a 98% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. It's a fresh story which centers around the common horror movie plot of whether the supernatural creature is real or imaginary. I get that the Babadook symbolizes the mother's grief which is pretty clever for a genre filled with cliches and dead topless girls but I don't think it merits a 98% rating.

Angels With Dirty Faces

A gangster movie from the late 30s that stars James Cagney. I enjoy a black and white film every now and then and I thought this was pretty entertaining. And no, it wasn't similar to that fictional movie shown in Home Alone "Angels with Filthy Souls".

3 1/2 stars.

Yeah i thought it was good but not as great as a lot of people are saying, And i don't really use rotten tomatoes ratings to tell if a movie is great because a movie can have 98 percent positive reviews but most of them could be a 6 or 7 on average. I think i gave the babadook a seven.

Jackie Brown (1997)

8/10 great movie. Great soundtrack. Now i have watched all of quentin tarantino's movies he has directed except for four rooms (which he wasn't the only director) and i like all of them. If i had to put them in order from favorite to least favorite (even though i like them all):

1. Django Unchained
2. Reservoir Dogs
3. Kill Bill Vol. 2
4. Pulp Fiction
5. Kill Bill Vol. 1
6. Jackie Brown
7. Death Proof
8. Inglourious Basterds

Astro Boy

Aside from the horrible voice acting of Nick Cage and Donald Sutherland, this was a good, solid film the first time I saw it... and is still a good, solid film. The animation was well done, and the story interesting.

Have you ever seen the black and white Astro Boy series, Vapor? I know you don't do anime, but I was wondering.

Not really. Though I was aware of it long before the film came out.

Time Bandits (1981).

I missed it on tv the other day, so I dug out the DVD.  I'd give it a fun out of ten.  Extra points for the ending and credits song.
