Convoy

I don't know if it was better than Smokey and the Bandit, but it was still pretty good. I had fun watching it.

Trucker movies were all the rage in the 70s, weren't they? You had Convoy, Smokey and the Bandit, and Steven Spielberg's TV-movie Duel.

I like both Convoy and Duel. They were completely different films, but both were good. The style of direction in Convoy was kind of different and somewhat unique. A lot of camera pans that appeared to be either post production pans or highly mechanical. But I always thought it seemed to fit in that movie.

Duel is awesome because of the one on one nature of the mysterious truck versus an ordinary guy.

What was his beef with the ordinary guy? Was he just crazy?

That Darn Cat

The original. A story about a mischievous, but intelligent cat. There were some good moments and I could listen to the theme song all day.

Avengers: Age of Ultron

Great movie. A worthy successor to the original. I liked all the witty banter, and the fact that Ultron had taken on some of Stark's personality traits (sarcasm, dry humor). The Hulkbuster vs Hulk sequence didn't disappoint, and Vision is sweet.

With today (or yesterday as of this post) being Star Wars day, I decided to go back and watch the original film. For the best presentation, I was viewing Harmy's Despecialized Edition V2.5... an HD restoration of the original unaltered film.

That's the best way to watch it. Hopefully Disney sees the value in releasing the originals, unaltered, on blu-ray.

It's like Sleeping with the Enemy. A woman tries to escape from her abusive husband and lives under a new identity. Well done.
