Avengers Infinity War

SPOILER ALERT

So I just watched this last night and I for the most part, really enjoyed it. The different story lines were balanced out quite nicely and and I enjoyed the huge universe they exhibited. I still think Captain America and his sauntering posse are ridiculous. Black Widow and Falcon have to be the most ridiculous Avengers. How on earth could Falcon hang with anyone? Same with Cap...so a bullet will kill him but getting slammed into a building at 50 mph won't?

Other than that, I was really hit in the feels when Peter Parker was drifting away and begging Tony Stark to help. They "killed" off a huge amount of heroes, good ones too so much that I can't see part 2 being even interesting with who is left. Definitely predict Hulk coming back in a big way per usual.

The scene after the credits will likely only appeal to diehard comic fans, as it was completely lost on me. It will be especially confusing since Captain Marvel is a DC and Marvel character that go by the same name and both have movies coming out.

All in all, I liked it and look forward to the next installment.

^It's a small miracle how well they pulled off Infinity War- the several characters, worlds, and having to introduce Thanos for what feels like the first time.

I mean, they had Peter Dinklage as a giant dwarf (oxymoron, I know) and it totally worked!

Also, it subverted a lot of expectations in a good way, leaving you on the edge of your seat the whole time. I'm anxiously awaiting for the conclusion!

All That Jazz

Roy Scheider was as good in this one as he was in Jaws. I'll have to watch one again sometime.

Went to see Slenderman tonight. Absolute garbage. Currently watching Predator to cleanse.

What possessed you to purchase a ticket for that?

I was outnumbered. Luckily my ticket was movie passed. Still, there was a price paid. A painful hour and a half that felt like 3.

Shame on you! Don't you know that you should stay away from the horror films of today?! Some of them just don't work! Well, some do.

It's the "some do" that makes it difficult. However it was no doubt that this one would fail.

A Quiet Place

For a movie that has hardly any lines, it's pretty good. I liked it.

Saw a few good movies, I usually try to watch an old favorite and also take a chance on a new movie each weekend.

Upgrade (2018)

This was a great action flick, it was light and didn't take itself too seriously. Basically a guy gets a super computer implanted into his spinal cord and has  a Jarvis like effect where the user has enhanced Windows 95 like abilities. A great pop corn romp.

The 13th Warrior (1999)

Man, this one brings back memories. I remember this and Congo being among my favorite movies as a kid, and when I found out Michael Crichton was behind both, my mind was blown. Admittedly this movie has some issues, but I enjoyed it. Some of the suspense was gone since I got older but still a classic. The "Lo there do I see my father" chant at the end is epic and one of the more memorable scenes.
