Mr Magic
One thing I learned about futuristic times is that people are really strict about swearing. More than they are now,

In Demolition Man, if a person so much as uttered a bad word, they got a citation, which a machine prints out. Those things were everywhere!

It Follows (2015)

9/10

This was really cool. The time period that this takes place was kind of weird, some things made it seem like the 1980's and some things made it seem like the 2010's. It had a cool old school horror movie feeling to it that i liked a lot. The look, style and the way that it was filmed/shot was really cool. It had a similar style to Halloween(the movie) and Risky Business. There were some spooky moments with the "it". The music score was really good.

I really wanted to watch this for a long time and it didn't disappoint.

Starship Troopers

It's like a space age Full Metal Jacket. This too also consists of training and war sequences. The battles between humans and giant bugs were fun to watch.

4 stars.

A Goofy Movie (1995)

I love this movie. Enjoyed it way back in the 90s for its catchy soundtrack and mild crush on Roxanne. Fast forward more than 20 years and I like it for its message of a father trying to keep up with his son reaching maturity. The scene where Goofy and Max are floating on the car and Max says he's not Goofy's baby any more and he has his own life just kills me. As a father now, my daughter is just a baby and goes where I go, and loves every bit of it, but I know the day will come where she has her own life and I'll take backseat to that. Awesome movie and poignant as it is entertaining, severely underrated in the Disney Library.

It's crazy how these old movies we loved as kids, teens, and young adults can take on all knew meaning for us as parents. It makes them new again, or at least a new kind of experience. Good example: Parenthood.

No Retreat, No Surrender

Don't let the poster fool you. Jean-Claude is not in the film that much. Kurt McKinney is the real star. Bur regardless, I was impressed with the kickboxing and other fighting. I just couldn't take my eyes off of what I was seeing. Very good stuff!

American Graffiti (1973)

9/10

I've wanted to watch this for a long time and i'm very happy that i finally did because i liked it a lot. Great soundtrack. Cool cars. A bunch of great moments and great quotes. Like:

"Hey, Kroot! Why don't you go kiss a duck?"

"Your car is uglier than I am!....Uh... that didn't come out right."

"I just love listening to Wolfman. My Mom won't let me at home. Because he's a Negro. I think he's terrific."

"I'm not gonna rape you"

Parts of that movie were filmed in my hometown. George Lucas lives here and even filmed some of the BttF 3 train scenes here as well.

Dracula Untold (2014)

4/10

It starts off promising with some excellent costume designs and vampire goodness but it has a weak ending and fails to become the franchise starter it was meant to be. It would have been better if it was Rated-R. Also, what part of this story was untold?

It begs the question... "At what point did Lucas lose the ability to craft great, entertaining conversations between characters?"
