8410 | Your avatar. | Well, I've changed my avatar to a clip from a promo video I did on Youtube. It's one of the first videos I have done on Youtube so tell me what you think.

| DoctorRyan | May 24, 2014 | |
8409 | How was your day? | I never expected ThatDudeintheHoodie to be (GASP!) a HUSTLER!!! (Sorry, in Dayton it's full of hustlers. I shouldn't even know what a hustler is. Oh never mind.)
| DoctorRyan | May 24, 2014 | |

8407 | Godzilla | Well, I've finally witnessed the 2014 film. In short, I enjoyed it a great deal. In fact, I would dare say it is one of the finest Godzilla films ever made.

Sure, it has it's faults. Perhaps it could have used a bit more monster fighting, but not too much. I say that because for them to have placed a great deal more action into it would have lessened the impact of the final portion of the film.

Now, for some spoiler-laden retrospection (highlight the text below to read):

Yes yes. I understand that many felt ripped off by Brian Cranston's character being killed off fairly early in the film. But the fact is, his character contributed all it could up to that point. To keep him on screen any longer would have been pointless. Once the "cat was out of the bag", his character had run it's course. It was then time to hand over screen time to characters that had something to contribute to the rest of the story.

There were seemingly a few plot holes here and there, but none that wouldn't be overlooked in any other popcorn summer flick.

I was not annoyed or disappointed by the action of either Johnson or Olsen, and Watanabe did well in his part.

I liked some of the Easter Eggs, like the word "Mothra" being visible in the old Brody house.

The final battle was well worth the wait. When Godzilla fires his atomic breath the first time, it's incredibly awesome. And then to use it to give the female MUTO a bad case of indigestion was sweet.

Overall, it was worth the money, and a great comeback after so many years of absence in film. Welcome back G!

| Vaporman87 | May 24, 2014 | |
