got my retro gamer edition package in today. i was tempted to open up the plastic wrapped egm issue to see vapor's drawing (obviously) and of course read whatever video game previews were being shown and talked about. the captain n comic i'll leave wrapped though. i decided to keep the usb controller boxed and on my shelf for now since my laptop is still in bad shape and i'll probably build the sonic block figure when i get some free time.

It was our church's annual Homecoming, so there was singing and food. Good times!
My father and I helped set the tables and stuff up this past week. "If you think a 401K is your mother-in-law's bra size, you might be a redneck."

Vaporman87 wrote :Ah, definitely not the same event. I was inland. I found the post. Funny, the only time I have been to Navy Pier was also to take pictures. I don't care for the place too much because there are too many tourists. I don't mean that as badly as it sounds. Vaporman87 wrote :That's pretty neat. Most of my side work is where they just close down the street for a couple of blocks. Although the big ones take over a park. At this weekend's fest I treated myself to a $9 burger. Grass-fed beef according to the sign. I wish they had REAL condiments. Give me lettuce, tomato, and onion please. Raw. Ketchup and mustard do not cut it with me. But the patty was juicy, well seasoned, cooked perfectly. The cheese was flavorful, and they put it on a kaiser roll. I'm making myself hungry. Anyway, for that it's a great price, compared to the dry, lifeless burger a lot of festival stands offer for only $2 less. thecrow174 wrote :That sounds nice. |

My poor 7 year old boy was very upset tonight before we fell asleep, because he had earlier watched an episode of Pop Fiction (which we like watching sometimes), except this one was about Mortal Kombat. He was crying because he had witnessed one of the fatalities in the game during the show (I was not around when this happened).
I consoled him as best I could, explaining that it was just pixels on a TV screen and yada yada yada... you and I know that doesn't help when your 7. Thankfully we laid in bed and watched a longplay of Sonic The Hedgehog that took his mind off it, and he fell asleep. You love this signature.

Ned Flanders from The Simpsons once let his sons watch an Itchy and Scratchy cartoon and sure enough, it corrupted them when they saw the cartoon blood.
Rod: Daddy, what's the red stuff coming out of kitty's ears? Ned: Uhh...that's just...raspberry jam. "If you think a 401K is your mother-in-law's bra size, you might be a redneck."

vkimo wrote :I would say I was exposed to more than he has been in regards to scenes of terror and other things a child might consider disturbing, but he is very sensitive to such things. Regardless, we try to keep as much of that out of the sight and minds of the kids. They're not prepared to know such things exist and are actually "enjoyed" by people. For him, he can't yet conceive that anyone would want to see such things (never did I mention I myself loved playing Mortal Kombat). I've seen footage of the newer games, and much like today's horror films, things have gotten more graphic and real looking. I myself can't handle the new stuff. Cheaply made effects from the 80's I can handle. But the new stuff can make me physically sick... not a good feeling. And one I imagine he felt last night. You love this signature.
