You know, when I said "not enjoying", I meant disliking. Hopefully there aren't any of those! I've had some meatless burgers that were pretty bad. Not recently. But your omissions are interesting too.
Whole wheat spaghetti and turkey meatballs sounds fine. Poultry is awesome, you can do just about anything with chicken. One of my go-tos lately has been just grilled chicken dressed with garlic and onions, and broccoli and carrots on the side. I still need to give the chicken a little salt...but I think I'm more sparing with it now.

shakin steak wrote :Sounds delightful. Mmmm. I've been very happy to see swordfish on the menus of restaurants once more. I think I discussed that in another thread somewhere. It is my favorite fish, and I prefer it over chicken when I can get my grubby hands on it. You love this signature.

I MAY have allowed myself to chow down 1 chicken plank from Long John's yesterday. Shhh. Don't tell the Diet Fairy.

Only one? Oh, that's OK.
I find it harder to resist snacks without smoking. I am down to one per day (during the week...weekends are another story), smoked half at a time. But if I ditch that last one I either want to eat like crazy, or just go crazy. I tried chewing gum and it doesn't work. I just chew a stick for 45 minutes and then start on another. |

shakin steak wrote :Thankfully I haven't had to deal with that issue (non-smoker here). Thing is, when you pull into a KFC/Long John's and you expect to buy a grilled chicken piece with some green beans... and then you smell that Long John's chicken plank calling out to your nose and taste buds... it takes some will power to overcome. I'm 6'1" and I weighed 265 lbs. in high school. When I graduated in 2004, I wanted to make changes. I'm down to around 160/165 lbs. now. While it seems like a good thing, I'm constantly paranoid about gaining that weight back.
I've been slacking off on my exercise after I hurt my back lifting weights a few months back. My cousin suggested I try DDP Yoga, but I always laughed it off. After months of his begging, I've given in and started the program this past Monday. I have to say, I'm pleasantly surprised. The workouts are pretty damn tough and I actually feel like I've had a workout after I'm done. I'm not looking to lose weight or anything, I'm just wanting to maintain/tone up. As far as my diet is concerned, I basically just stay away from fried foods and junk food throughout the week. I usually eat what I want (To a certain degree) on the weekend. It helps me stay sane and I don't really feel bad about it since I try to cut down on that junk 5 out of 7 days per week. |

At least you seem to be good with the yoga. Maybe it will help prepare your back for tougher workouts down the road.

In two days, I will have gone 1 month without a single sip of soda, diet or otherwise. That is pretty incredible for me.
