Have a retro week.

Sitting here in the living room, after a rather busy day, listening to my daughter practice her piano playing. I feel a swell of pride and sadness. She's becoming such a well rounded young lady. I couldn't be prouder of her.

I think about when she was just a baby... which seems so recent in my mind. Carrying her on my shoulders as she giggled, having to attach leads to her little body during the time she had to be monitored for sleep apnea, bouncing the basketball past her in the kitchen and seeing her laugh uncontrollably.

Nothing on earth makes me wish I could stop time like my kids. I just want to cherish the moments and have them last forever. There can be nothing more bittersweet than seeing your children grow. Nothing.

Our daughter is nearing her first birthday. She's starting to really become aware of things and while it's fun to experience, it is definitely bittersweet. She's sleeping on the couch in her little pillow as I type this. She has on the last remaining outfit that fits from her baby shower. As much as I'll miss her being a baby, I'm dead set excited on seeing her grow and take on life, and I plan to be there for her every moment.

As for my day, I was off so I went to a car dealership with my brother then to the local credit union. I'm stuck between a Chevy Avalanche and a Honda Pilot.

I had good luck with the Honda Pilot. We would have kept ours if it weren't for the layout and harnessing. When the new baby came along, we needed captain chairs in the second row. The Expedition Limited had that and extra space for groceries, even with the third row up. Go Honda... not Government Motors.

I finally got to play my Godzilla game again last night on the PS4. Yeah, it's nothing special, but it sure is fun to smash things and other monsters in high definition.

Ahhh. At last we have a complete and functional deck with roof. There will be many a night spent out here soaking up the sights, sounds, and smells of Autumn.

It looks great!  One of my favorite things to do is sit on my porch at night and listen to nature.  Anytime of the year, it doesn't matter to me.  I love it.  So relaxing.
