This is soooo cool!

I did not know it until today, but in the final season of The Brady Bunch, the gang heads to my favorite local amusement park, King's Island for the episode "The Cincinnati Kids". Here is a Nick at Nite Pop Up Brady breakdown of their visit:

It cracks me up how many of these rides are no longer there. The Red & Blue Racer was the original roller coaster, but it wasn't until 1977 that a coaster there gained international star status... The Beast. It was built as the tallest, longest, and fastest wooden roller coaster ever constructed:

40 years after that episode of The Brady Bunch aired, the gang headed back to K.I. to celebrate the anniversary of it's airing:

This isn't a thing in a box, or on a shelf, but I figure it's retro random so it goes here. I'm not going to make a whole thread that will probably not get past page one about it.

I never watch The Tonight Show. If I am up that late on a weeknight and watching broadcast TV, I usually watch David Letterman, because I'm really just waiting for The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. (Who, now that he's gone, I don't know what I'll do. And Letterman is leaving soon, too. If The Tonight Show keeps up this level of genius perhaps I'll start watching it.) For some reason I caught the beginning last night before finishing my drink and heading off to bed.

*ahem*  Backstory out of the way.  I guess the show is usually in New York and for a few weeks they'll be in LA. So, last night they recreated the opening to Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. When it started, I thought it would be cheap and lazy but it's actually amazing. Not only is it a great concept for the show's move, but this is shot by shot on point, right down to Will Smith's head twirl at the end. And the appearances from DJ Jazzy Jeff and Alfonso Ribiero...  ohmygodohmygodohmygod

Here's the original if you need to compare.

That was awesome. Like you said, that Alfonso Ribiero was in it really cemented it as great.

I was reminded today of something, I'm not sure it's been talked about here... by me or otherwise. Remember this...

You could get these at Dairy Queen several years ago. I can't remember how many I personally had, but I do know LA was one of the teams I owned.

I got those, probably only once or twice. They seem like a very 'late 70s early 80s' kind of thing to me. I think they pretty much went away as I exited toddlerdom.

Uh... so, they still make the Flowbee. No... seriously. They do. Chock this up to fad devices you thought died off long ago but actually didn't.

Maybe it's because of my youth but what the hell is a Flowbee?
