I think there's common ground in there that could make a positive difference. As far as pathways to opportunity, it would be helpful if we could manage the influx of illegals and come down hard on businesses that use their labor. Stop wasting money raiding guitar manufacturers because of wood in their product, and raid businesses using illegal immigrant labor. It's not an all-in-one solution, but it could help. Then again, you need Americans who're willing to work in those jobs. When they get so many government handouts that they just choose not to work, it's hard to present them opportunities they'll consider. The things I've witnessed in this county alone with regard to the use and abuse of welfare is staggering.

Yesterday, the text enhance links have been showing up on my computer. I got rid of them for now.

But today, the AOL homepage automatically became my Firefox homepage.

While I know we'll somewhat disagree on them, those actually aren't the pathways I had in mind there, so... I dunno. I meant to refer to how all kids need access to options for creativity and empowerment but so many of them don't.

But on the topic of cracking down on businesses using illegal immigrant labor...how do you feel about businesses using foreign workers in their own countries and then importing their goods here?

What are those?

Firefox changed Yahoo to my default. I think they are trying to make sure Google doesn't have so much search market share.

I'd rather businesses NOT outsource to foreign countries at all. I would like them to not do it as a matter of principal, but if it doesn't benefit the bottom line, they're not going to go that route. You could either punish or provide incentive. I'd prefer a mixture of both though. Lower corporate taxes, but fine if they don't make changes in outsourcing. It's a lot more complicated than that I know, but just as a basic idea.

I think we found a major issue that we completely agree on

Ha! Awesome. Well, I think we've solved several world problems here today. Time to watch mindless old cartoons and eat a bowl of cereal from 1982.

Yeah, sometimes people tote the 2nd Amendment when a shooting happens, but it doesn't really mean a thing. Look at Chris Kyle (American Sniper) he was an expertly trained warrior and was shot point blank. It's always the unstable, insane shooters that scare everyone into thinking we need to round up all firearms and ship them to Pluto. I think some people just like the knowing they have a firearm so they can fantasize how heroic they'd be if someone started busting caps at the mall. Let them have that. And like you said, we need to address the root issues here like bad upbringing and intolerance.

Here in California, nearly all of the service industry is comprised of latinos. When I go to the lumberyard in the mornings, it's mostly hispanics and a few old white guys. I don't have an issue with it, they're hard workers and family oriented. They cater to the upper middle class white population who can't wipe their butts without a hand guiding them. Go to the park, and you'll see a pregnant latino lady walking 2 white kids! I worked at a house and this rich white family has 2 kids, and the wife doesn't work. They have 2 housekeepers and a dog walker....and a vet that visits the house...and a Gardner..

Time to throw my uneducated, worthless opinion into the ring!

I think that a lot of this is connected to the technology boom. Nobody's going want to work labor when they make money with a startup or what have you. This is especially true where I live  in the Silicon Valley.

The women of New Vegas ask me a lot if there's a Mrs. New Vegas. Well, of course there is! You're her. And you're still just as perfect as the day we met.
