Masters of the Universe (1987)

I haven't seen this movie since I was a kid. I'm surprised by how much enjoyment I got from it. Frank Langella was just amazing and surprisingly Dolph Lundren looked the part. I remember thinking as a kid there wasn't enough He-Man and after watching it recently, I still feel that way. The music reminded me of Superman, but in a good way. The tones the key made brought me straight back to the 80's. Like Close Encounters, once those tones get cemented into your mind they must hibernate there. A worthwhile watch for an old fan, I'm glad they added it to Netflix.

Rare Exports

This is supposedly a Christmas horror flick, but it was kind of boring and for some reason had naked elderly men as Santa's elves. I'm not sure why this film gets so much praise. Hopefully the new Krampus movie coming out in November is way better than this.

I'm thinking about seeing 1966's Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? It's said to have started the Motion Picture Association of America due to its use drinking and violence. I like movies from the 60s, so I wouldn't mind seeing this one.

@massreality: I too recently rewatched MOTU the movie. I was entertained despite its corniness and limited budget. Gary Goddard could have done so much more with the movie if it had been bankrolled by a bigger studio. But as it is, it's one of Golan-Globus' better films.

I know it's far too early in the season, but I just finished re-watching Santa Claus Conquers the Martians. For a cheesy holiday themed  60's sci-fi flick it gets me in the feels every time. Of course that could have more to do with the Jack and Coke I enjoyed whilst watching it. Tomato Tomahto.

Starry Eyes (2014)

6.5/10 Good movie. I liked the music score a lot, it reminded me of the score by tangerine dream from risky business. This had a similar feeling as rosemary's baby.

Ha! That's awesome. Santa Claus Conquers The Martians made for a classic MST3K episode. You have to love it.

I'm watching an HBO baseball movie called "61".

It's about NY Yankee greats Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris, who attempt to break Babe Ruth's single season home run record of 60. Billy Crystal directed this. I don't know how much of this movie is true, but it's provocative.

4 stars.

Problem Child (1990)

Problem Child was one of those films I watched a lot as a child. I haven't seen it since the early 90's, but I remembered so much of the dialogue and music. It was a fun little trip down memory lane. The movie was decent enough and definitely a product of its time. Not a bad way to spend an hour and a half. John Ritter was pretty phenomenal in it.

Problem Child was a well-done, underrated comedy. I felt it should've gotten more love than it did. I liked the second one too. Crazy Dance, anyone?
