I try and stay away from the steroid enhanced meat. I believe it is the main factor in making peoples bodies go haywire. I drink lots of water and  normally eat whatever I want- sodas included. Gonna look into buying half a cow from a farmer. They separate it for you and wrap it and it's way cheaper and better than the meat in the store.

I did 20 minutes on the stair master at the gym with a 75lb weighted backpack on and I realized something important in relation to tough endurance exercises. After about the first 5 minutes the pain and suffering seems to reach a baseline and it stays there. Things don't get worse but they don't get better so it's just a matter of tolerating the experience. When I stopped at 20 minutes I felt the same exhaustion at 10 minutes. Even though I was beat when I stepped off, I probably could have done another 10 minutes. Really is mind over matter.

Had to move out the treadmill while we paint/re-carpet the family room so, I guess I just have to run around the house jumping over mud puddles for exercise for now.

Well, after putting it off for years because I hate needles, I got my lipid profile done once more and it wasn't great. Looks like I will be doing much more than just not drinking pop now. I'll be almost completely eliminating carbs for a while.

My body betrays me when I feed it carbs.

I really need to get back into my exercise regime. Moving to a new state, new job, new schedule and now moving again really threw it out of whack. Now that things seem to be getting stable again and with wife's new job, I can finally get back to givin' it my all!

I've been going on many long walks and such lately (Usually an hour long) and drink a lot of water to get into shape for the con in July. I need to fit into the jeans I have for the costume I'm using. So far so good.

I hit the treadmill again for the first time since we got back from Florida (and since we began remodeling the room in which it sits). Trying to look into ways to adhere to the DASH or a Mediterranean diet. Apparently my metabolism does not function like a normal person, which is why I find myself with Metabolic Syndrome. So it's not something that I can just go on a diet and fix. This will need to be a lifestyle change, for life. But hey... if I can stop drinking soda (a miracle for me), I can do this. Wish me luck.

Well good luck! I think you can do it. Fish, fruit/vegetables, whole grains, nuts & seeds, olive oil...sounds delicious!

I think it's doable. I love fish and seafood, chicken, nuts, and fruit. Vegetables and legumes are a little tougher, as I usually eat mine with some type of flavoring or spices that I probably shouldn't have now. Whole grains are good. I found this cereal at the supermarket that is made of beans and tastes great...

The strawberry flavor is the one I've tried.
