does anyone go to a church that hosts a "trunk or treat" event? i took part in one last year with my stepdad but it wasn't very eventful and the temperature dropped down to 60. i might just stay home this year and buy some decorations.

We don't do "Trunk or Treat" (though some local churches here do). We hand out candy at the church and then have a chili dinner right after so all the trick-or-treaters can come in and get a warm chili and drinks.

@Ben:

At our church around Halloween, the kids play games to win candy.

For the adults, there's the Cakewalk, which is a Musical Chairs type of game. The adults would walk around on numbers taped to the floor while the music is playing and try to win cakes.

Yeah, our elementary school festival had cake walks, a haunted house, lots of smaller games (like the one where you pay money and toss a "fishing pole" behind a gym mat standing upright so somebody behind it can tie a goodie bag to it - like you fished it out, ), and food.

That sounds pretty cool.  At our church, we do a "Trunk or Treat", but since the church has a large building with a gym in it, that's where it takes place.  No matter what the weather, the kids get to be in doors and go around the gym collecting candy.

My kids and I have discovered iMovie. The world will never be the same.

I'm being told to tell you to like and share this and make the kids famous. So... do that.
