This week brings in a very special release, as this includes a Japan only game that has not received a North American release until just this week. This is the week of September 3, 2015.

Wii U Virtual Console:

VS Excitebike (FDS)
$4.99

Mario Golf (N64)
$9.99

VS Excitebike was actually released on Monday as a close to Nintendo's Builder's Week promotion. A social media promotional challenge where they would give gamers a challenge to complete in one of their eShop games, and have them post the results on Twitter. This promotional challenge was made to promote Super Mario Maker.

This also marks the North American debut of the Famicom Disc System version of VS Excitebike. It's a lot different than the NES game, and the arcade version of VS Excitebike. It's an enhanced version of the VS Excitebike arcade game, but features enhanced music and a track editor... hence why Nintendo released this game at the end of the Builder's Week promotion. I might consider getting this game. After all I'm always up for a more... EXCITING version of Excitebike.

By the way, I wonder if Nintendo will ever release the F-zero X Expansion Kit in North America. But that may require for F-zero X to be released first.

I hope in VS Excitebike, you don't have to keep reducing speed to let your bike cool down.

Week of 9/10/2015:

Wii U Virtual Console:

Tecmo Bowl (NES)
$4.99

As we approach football season, we get yet another Virtual Console Three-peat title. It might still be a good title to get. One thing I learned recently that I actually did not know about until sometime after the 3DS Virtual Console release was the fact that the Virtual Console versions of this game are altered. All of the NFL references, such as the logo and team names, are removed. Why. Because EA supposedly owns the exclusive rights. This, ladies and gentlemen, is yet another reason why I hate EA.

Also, Super Mario Maker is released just this week. I plan on getting it possibly off Amazon. It looks like a solid that brings Nintendo's alternative takes to these rom hacks people make of certain Mario levels. I look forward to seeing all of the exciting Mario levels people will make online. I also hope it puts an end to the New Super Mario Bros series. With Super Mario Maker, there's really no reason to make another NSMB game. Especially since New Super Mario Bros U was pretty crappy.

Week of 9/17/2015:

Wii U Virtual Console:

Car Battler Joe (GBA)
$6.99

The start of the lineup of Natsume's GBA games that's set to be released for the Wii U Virtual Console, and they're starting with a rather obscure title that I have not heard of at all. Seems that we're going to be seeing more of their GBA titles, as they reported a while back that they're not going to release any more SNES games. There were articles that claimed that the SNES games on the Wii U Virtual Console are going to dry up this year, though some of the releases that came out after the article was published contradicts that. Though, if anything, I think the 3DS Virtual Console is drying up even more so as there hasn't been any releases on there since the Donkey Kong Land trilogy came out in February.

Very clever, Ben. Now that you've used that one up, you need to prepare another.

Week of 9/24/2015:

Wii U Virtual Console:

The Ignition Factor (SNES)
$7.99

Can't say much about The Ignition Factor. It's known in Japan as Fire Fighting. Yes, folks, this is a fire fighting simulator you're looking at here,

Week of 10/1/2015:

Wii U Virtual Console:

River City Ransom (NES)
$4.99

The newest Virtual Console threepeat game, and it's the most memorable title in the Kunio-Kun trilogy. So much so that there is actually a sequel being released... and one that's been funded by Kickstarter. It's been approved by Steam Greenlight just last month, and it looks amazing from what I've seen.

Also released this week is the original Mega Man Legends on the Playstation Network. Yes, after so many years of copyright issues, the game is now finally available.... and it was released exactly 5 years after Mega Man Legends 3 was officially announced. Unfortunately, Capcom didn't have much confidence in Mega Man Legends 3, and they ended up cancelling it, which I was not happy with. Capcom did do what they had to do, but it was also because of these decisions that Azure Striker Gunvolt and Mighty No. 9 existed in the first place.
