INCOMING ALERT! Mega May continues for the week of May 21, 2015.
Wii U Virtual Console:
Mega Man Zero 2 (GBA)
$7.99
Super E.D.F.: Earth Defense Force (SNES)
$7.99
One thing to note about Mega Man Zero 2 is that it was released the same day as the despised Mega Man X7. Yeah, between those two games.. Mega Man Zero 2 was a better title.
Also, an interesting fact to note is that when Super EDF was originally released in North America, they simply called it Earth Defense Force. They started calling it Super EDF because there's an entirely different game franchise made by D3 that's called Earth Defense Force. The SNES game has nothing to do with that game series, so they started using the Super EDF name to make it less confusing so people don't think it's part of the same franchise.

WARNING! FINAL WEEK OF MEGA MAY 2015 IS HERE FOR THE WEEK OF MAY 28, 2015.
Wii U Virtual Console: Rival Turf (SNES) $7.99 Mega Man Battle Network 4: Red Sun (GBA) $7.99 Mega Man Battle Network 4: Blue Moon $7.99 Mega Man Zero 3 (GBA) $7.99 Yes, Mega Man Zero 3 was a surprise addition as it wasn't even announced as a part of the Mega May 2015 lineup. I guess Capcom didn't want to end this year's Mega May on a sour note. Especially considering how Mega Man Battle Network 4 is considered to be the black sheep in the Mega Man Battle Network series. But you know what's interesting about Mega Man Zero 3? That game was intended to be the final game in the Mega Man Zero series. Unfortunately, Capcom ordered them to release a fourth game, but that's a whole different story for when we do see Mega Man Zero 4 released on the Wii U Virtual Console eventually... and believe me, I'm sure it's going to happen. On top of having those games released for the Wii U Virtual Console... the Playstation Network also got Mega Man 8 released as part of PSone Classics. With this, we pretty much have all 10 of the classic Mega Man games released on modern consoles. With Mega Man 1-7 (and Bass) released on the Wii U Virtual Console, 8 being on the Playstation Network, and Mega Man 9 and 10 being available on Wiiware, Playstation Network, and the Xbox Live Arcade. Unfortunately, we're not likely going to see a Mega Man 11 any time soon. Especially considering Capcom's Mega Massacre that's been going on since 2011. |

mega man 8 is a cakewalk compared to its predecessors B) though the fight with doctoh wahwee is tough since that game didn't provide e-tanks.

What blue... no love for Rival Turf in that post?
Really though. Any two player outing is a plus on the virtual console. If they would just get the rights to release Turtles In Time, that would be great. You love this signature.

^ You could get Turtles in Time at the Pawn Shop like I did.

releasing the classic tmnt titles would be awesome, though it'd be tough acquiring the license rights what with konami being involved with them. ubisoft released the arcade titles on psn and xbox live, only to get shelved quickly because konami still owned the rights.

The original Ninja Turtles game for the NES used to be on the original Wii Virtual Console, but it got delisted.

Week of 6/4/2015:
Wii U Virtual Console: Pac-Attack (SNES) $7.99 Well, with Mega May over, it is back to another slow week. Pac-Attack is a pretty useless release since the game is already included as part Pac-Man Collection... a GBA Pac-Man compilation title that's also available on the Wii U Virtual Console. It has four Pac-Man games and you can get it for $6.99... a dollar cheaper than what you would be paying for just that one SNES game. Both the SNES and GBA versions of Pac-Attack are virtually the same... the biggest difference really is that the GBA version doesn't save your high scores, which is something that can be alleviated with the Wii U Restore Points. But me personally, I would rather play the Namco Anthology 2 version of Pac-Attack than either the SNES and GBA versions. Those who don't know, that version of the game was unlockable in Pac-Man World 2. Now that's the version of Pac-Attack I'd like to see released on modern systems. |
