I picked up a boatload of Virtual Console games last week, but not any Tetris games. Tennis, Metroid, Super Mario World, Mario Bros, Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong Jr., and a few others.

Week of 1/8/2015:
Wii U Virtual Console: Mega Man Battle Network 2 (GBA) $7.99 3DS Virtual Console: Adventures of Lolo (NES) $4.99 Adventures of Lolo marks the game's Virtual Console three-peat release. However, as of right now, I look forward to when they release Adventures of Lolo 2. Not to mention the third game and the Game Boy title still has yet to receive a Virtual Console release. |

Week of 1/15/2015:
Wii U Virtual Console: Street Fighter 2010 (NES) $4.99 3DS Virtual Console: Lufia: The Legend Returns (GBC) $5.99 Also released this week is the first in the next pack of Sega's 3D Classics for the 3DS, starting with 3D After Burner II. Once again, these games are being remastered by M2. This week is also the first week in the eShop's throwback sale, with Wii games being offered on the eShop for the first time, starting with Super Mario Galaxy 2. As far as Virtual Console titles go, Super Mario Advance 3: Yoshi's Island is being discounted to $5.99, where it was normally priced at $7.99. |

LOL at how NotShane from Retrojunk believed that Wii digital games on Wii U counted as Virtual Console titles. Yeah... no they're not. Just because it's from a discontinued last-gen Nintendo system does not make it so. They still run the same way you would run the original disc in Wii mode. Although, I think it may support the Wii U Pro Controller but I could be wrong.
After checking the thread again, it seems he edited his post to remove the reference and him trying to rebut against my comment seems to be deleted as well. Well, at least my reply calling him out is still there. Anyway, it's time for this week's release for 1/22/2015: Wii U and 3DS Virtual Console: S.C.A.T. Special Cybernetic Attack Team (NES) $4.99 Oh, and here's a fair warning. DO NOT do a google image search on S.C.A.T... that's what I did when I was looking up the cover art, and it led to some very disturbing images. But if you do want to do it anyway... well... I can't stop you, but don't say I didn't warn you. Week 2 of the Nintendo Throwback Sale is going on with Punch-Out for the Wii being added to the eShop for the first time. The 3DS version of the original Legend of Zelda, which is normally $4.99, is now being offered at $3.49. Yup, just the 3DS Virtual Console version... not the one on Wii U. Also, Kid Icarus: Of Myths and Monsters, which is normally $3.99, is now $1.99 on the 3DS eShop. |

the only wii game that i'd appreciate them posting on the vc is xenoblade chronicles, but now that they're rereleasing it for the new 3DS model i doubt that'll happen. yeah, the wii game releases don't even have an upscale in resolution, so i'm holding onto my physical copy of super mario galaxy 2.

Week of 1/29/2015:
Wii U and 3DS Virtual Console: Shadow of the Ninja (NES) $4.99 Much like S.C.A.T., Shadow of the Ninja is another example that shows how capable Natsume is of making really good games like this every now and then. Also, here's an interesting fact: Natsume originally developed a Game Boy version of Shadow of the Ninja. Eventually, Tecmo picked it up and retooled it into Ninja Gaiden Shadow. Week 3 of Nintendo's Throwback Sale continues with the original Metroid, which is normally $4.99, is discounted at $3.49 on the 3DS Virtual Console. Just like with last week's discount of The Legend of Zelda, I still do not understand why it's only the 3DS version that's discounted and not the Wii U version. Doesn't matter to me too much since I do have the original Metroid on my Wii U. Also discounted is Mario Golf GB, which is normally $4.99, is now $3.49 on the 3DS Virtual Console. For the Wii U Virtual Console, Super Mario Kart, which is normally $7.99, is discounted at $5.99. With Metroid Prime Trilogy being released on the eShop for the first time, you would think that Super Metroid would be discounted, but it figures they wouldn't since they pretty much already gave it away during the Famicom 30th Anniversary. But still, this would have been a good opportunity to offer Metroid Fusion at a discount price. |
