Week of 8/21/2014:
Wii U Virtual Console: Life Force (NES) $4.99 Mega Man 6 (NES) $4.99 3DS Virtual Console: Xtreme Sports (GBC) $4.99 Mega Man 6 finishes up the NES Mega Man series which brings that to a close. The game was also released on the 3DS VC, but not on the original Wii. A fun fact about the game was that Capcom was not originally planning on bringing the game to North America. Instead, Nintendo of America localized it, and they released it shortly before Mega Man X. Life Force joins the Virtual Console Three-peat, where the game is available on the Virtual Consoles of the Wii, 3DS, and Wii U. |

Week of 8/28/2014:
Wii U Virtual Console: Mega Man X3 (SNES) $7.99 Donkey Kong Jr. Math (NES) $4.99 So, we have a good game and a terrible game. If there is one game I strongly would NOT recommend playing, it's Donkey Kong Jr. Math. That game is hands down, one of the worst games from Nintendo, if not the worst. Well... actually, Radar Scope is even worse, but DKJrMath is up there as one of the worst games. Also, this week, we have a few discounts from Capcom. A lot of them are eShop titles for the Wii U and 3DS, but there's a few discounts for SNES games on Wii U. Street Fighter II: The World Warrior, Street Fighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting, Super Street Fighter II: The New Challengers, and Street Fighter Alpha 2. All of which are originally $7.99, are discounted at $4.99. Those who are looking to get in on the deal... well... the sale ends September 4. |

I always enjoyed SF2: Turbo. Might pick that one up.

Week of 9/4/2014:
Wii U Virtual Console: Nobunaga's Ambition (SNES) $7.99 3DS Virtual Console: Street Fighter 2010: The Final Fight (NES) $4.99 Street Fighter 2010 is a game that's better off forgotten. Some people say that others don't like the game just because it has the Street Fighter name slapped on. But really, this game still would have sucked under a different name, it just had the ultimate dishonor of having Street Fighter's name slapped on it. Also, the MegAugust may have ended, but Capcom is still releasing classic Mega Man games on the Playstation Network. Mega Man X4 has just been released this week under the PSone Classics for the PS3. Since Super Smash Bros is coming out, Nintendo is hyping up the release of the 3DS version by bringing us the Super Smashing Sale. For this first week, we have the Mario, Bowser, Peach, and Luigi sale with Super Mario Bros 2 and 3 for 3DS and Wii U, both of which are normally $4.99, are discounted at $3.49. The Little Mac sale has Punch-Out with Mr. Dream for the Wii U and 3DS Virtual Consoles discounted at $3.49. On a side note. Why the hell does the Yoshi sale only have Yoshi's New Island discounted and not Super Mario World or Yoshi's Island? I mean come on, those to games are way better than that crapfest of a Yoshi's Island sequel that Arzest came out with. |
|
@blueluigi: Maybe they haven't sold enough of the YI sequel and want to keep the focus on it, because they know if given the choice, they would go for the discounted original.

when i saw the trailer for street fighter 2010 for the eshop on nintendo's channel, one of the commenters stated "people hate this game by default because AVGN reviewed it". not true. years ago a friend of mine had it and i played it myself. i genuinely hate it

Week of 9/11/2014:
Wii U Virtual Console: Adventure Island (NES) $4.99 Mega Man 7 (SNES) $7.99 Mega Man 7 was actually released earlier today (Friday) during the Nintendo Treehouse livestream on Twitch. It started when Audrey Drake was playing the game, and they released it on the Wii U Virtual Console afterwards. Whenever I see this, it makes me further glad Audrey left her job at IGN and moved to working at Nintendo... because she really does know her gaming info. Super Smashing Sale continues with Link, Sheik, Toon Link, and Zelda. Wii U Virtual Console deals include The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past and the Minish Cap, both of which are normally $7.99, is now discounted at $4.99. The 3DS Virtual Console has The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons and Ages discounted at $3.99, both of which, are normally $5.99. Captain Falcon has F-zero, which is normally $7.99, is discounted at $5.99. Mega Man has Mega Man 1 and 2 discounted for the 3DS Virtual Console. Both of which are normally $4.99, are discounted at $3.49. The Wii U Virtual Console has Mega Man X1 and X2 discounted... both that are normally $7.99, is now $4.99 for this week. Pit and Palutena has Kid Icarus for the Wii U Virtual Console. which is normally $4.99, is discounted at $3.49. And last, Sonic. The game gear version of Sonic the Hedgehog, which is normally $4.99, is now $3.49. Though, I'm not sure why they don't have any of the other Game Gear Sonic games as part of the discount. Ah well... |

That skateboard in Adventure Island was so much to ride.
