Does it look completed to anyone else?
No way! As you described. Also, "bump to make it appear in list" is still required. Plus, if you delete a post it still shows up in the condensed list (see # 704)(I replaced with 707)

Ahhh, okay. That's why it was not showing up with a thread title. You deleted it. Okay. I deleted that from the list. It should be gone now.

Hm, the search seems a little...wonky. I was trying to see if it requires exact phrase, or if it uses AND operators, or what.
Try searching for back to the future. No results. I have mentioned it by full title in two different threads. Searching for howard, (with or without proper case) also has no results. And it doesn't index thread titles. Try pulp fiction. Seems like an issue with indexing the condensed list? The search box that appears on every forum page does work as expected and gives results for all of those terms. |

Ahhh... this is much better.
Special thanks to Alex Jose for getting everything straightened out. You love this signature.

I was writing an article and I noticed there is no security for hosted images. If you upload an image with the same name as a file that is already in /images/postImages/, it will overwrite the first file. There is no warning. However, it is case sensitive.
Clear your cache, then check out your last post in the retro movie poster thread. Personally, I like this Godzilla poster better. But you can see how this can go wrong. |

Ahhh. Nice find shakin.
Hmmm. This needs to be fixed somehow. I'll get on this. You love this signature.

The idea had crossed my mind to attach some point value to forum posts and article/video comments. The value would have to be lower than video submissions. Perhaps, 1 point per forum post/comment.
What are your thoughts on this? You love this signature.

It's interesting. Would you have some kind of plan to discourage spamming or low-content posting?
How about a voting system, where people can "like" or "thumbs up" or "approve" (similar to articles) a post that they like or agree with? And perhaps posts that get a lot of votes can be worth more? Maybe half a point per like. Or one extra point for every ten likes. Or, no points for just posting, and points are only awarded for likes (encouraging good posting). Also, I've wondered: Were you ndestrukt on RJ? |

shakin steak wrote :Also, I've wondered: Were you ndestrukt on RJ? Nope. I've always been Ghost of Vapor on RJ. I like these suggestions for controlling spam. I knew that some level of control would be necessary in order to keep people from racking up points through those kinds of tactics - but I hadn't really gone into any deep thought on it. I figured I would first gather feedback on whether or not it would even be something acceptable to the membership. You love this signature.

Well, I think it's acceptable.
