I hate to squash hopes and dreams, but yeah, I've received that error before and there wasn't an update. 

I think it's safe to say the mythical update is never coming.

RetroJunk did get the much anticipated update...about 3 years ago. The result being the current layout. There's nothing more to expect.

Much anticipated, and ultimately rejected. I'm sure it was a lot of work. The reaction, justified as it was IMO, must have been incredibly disheartening for Vertex. It's really too bad, and a shame. I wish it had not been done. I wonder how he feels about it.

I think it was his attempt to jump onto the whole "web 2.0" design fad. Overrated if you ask me. Yeah, things look sleeker and "more professional" as a result. But there's no character in web 2.0 design. I prefer the "Geocities" cheapness and gaudiness. But that's just me.
