"No time before NBC made a Fortune."

Wheel of Fortune premiered on NBC in 1975. So, anytime after that year.

Nice work Blue, when I read that I was thinking of a show that made them a lot of money but I know the clues often have a twist.

The first sounds of Toy Soldiers plays well beyond the target days.

Other than the movie, I can't make any connections.

Uh...UH...UUUUHHH, Toy Soldiers was from 1991, but I don't get the "target days", the Target stores were founded in the early 60's, but I really doubt either of those are valid hints to lead our search.

Oh wait, I think the clues indicates that the "target days": (i.e the year we're trying to guess) are before the premiere of Toy Soldiers in 1991, thus eliminating 1992-1999. But why Toy Soldiers would have any association with "Sound" is beyond me. Unless it was a song or something.

Is there by any chance a toy line that could qualify as Toy Soldiers? Aside from the obvious G.I. Joe which don't have sound effects

Anybody have a copy of the movie to see what the first sound in it is?

There are lots of works with the same title including a 1984 movie, a song, and two TV show episodes but no toy lines. Of course, there are things that wikipedia doesn't know...

I might be off the track but the capitalization leads me to think it's definitely a proper name. (Vaporman no fair using this for future misdirection! )

This clue seems pretty obtuse. "Plays" and "plays well" could also have a variety of meanings.

Toy Soldiers would have been a slow song during Vaporman's junior high or middle school dance years.

No, I won't be using any misdirection. That would make it less fun.
