Article | Vaporman87 | I knew onipar would love this one. You need to check out vkimo's entry from that year as well. | NLogan's Retro Halloween Overload | Jul 14, 2015 | ![]()
Article | onipar | This article is pure awesome. So many great pictures. Halloween is near and dear to my heart as well. Great work! | NLogan's Retro Halloween Overload | Jul 13, 2015 | ![]()
Article | Vaporman87 | LOL. There is certainly a fair amount of "retro" to be found in this photo. I can clearly see the beads and baseball card in your spokes. And the Micro Machines collection behind you is sweet! Add the painted paneling and yellowish oak dresser and you have a quintessential 80's backdrop. Love the attitude in this photo, as well as the style of dress. It's perfect. | Retro-graphic Evidence: Video Games are Cool! | Jul 13, 2015 | ![]()
Article | Vaporman87 | Yeah, basically the whole card collecting/manufacturing craze imploded around the time the final movie in the franchise came around, and that is pretty evident here. I actually prefer the simple, plain style of the original series of cards. Reminds me of my days collecting Topps baseball cards. Once Fleer, Donruss, and Skybox got big in the game, things got way too complicated, flashy, and collector oriented. It wasn't about kids picking up cards and enjoying them, it was more about adults who wanted them simply for the value in a Beckett. That bubble burst around the same time that comic book values plummeted. Great retrospective on the Batman series and cards in general Hoju! | Batman Trading Cards of the 80's and 90's | Jul 13, 2015 | ![]()
Article | kstrom22 | Nice article! When I was in 3rd Grade my teacher tumbled some rocks and each of the students took one home. I still have it on my shelf. Naturally, I begged for one but my parents said "no" or "wait until Easter." By the time the Easter Bunny brought it, though, I had moved on to something else. Maybe I should go get one now! | Yesterdays: Things I DIDN'T Have As A Kid | Jul 13, 2015 | ![]()
Article | mickyarber | @massreality..that's pretty cool. My younger cousin got them, and same thing happened. He tried to get into real drums, but wasn't very good, nut it got him into music. WHen the drumming didn't work out, he learned guitar instead and has done well with it in the years since. | Yesterdays: Things I DIDN'T Have As A Kid | Jul 13, 2015 | ![]()
Article | massreality | I totally forgot about Hit Stix! My brother owned the Hit Stix, and they were pretty awesome. They even inspired him to get into real drumming a few years later. | Yesterdays: Things I DIDN'T Have As A Kid | Jul 13, 2015 | ![]()
Article | mickyarber | Love this article. Like everyone else, I wanted a tree house to play in, but my problem was lack of trees. Now, my daughters are wanting one. Guess I should see about getting started and maybe live vicariously through them. That or make it sturdy enough for Pops to get up there and play with them. Hope to see more from you. | Castles of Yesteryear | Jul 12, 2015 | ![]()
Article | Vaporman87 | Hopefully my kids feel the same way about my wife and I when they discover the truth. LOL | 1990 - The Year Santa Died | Jul 12, 2015 | ![]()
