I don't know if "reboot" is the correct word, because it sounds like they are actually doing a short mini-series/reunion season.

Ehh... kind of seems weird. Roseanne's final season was absolutely horrible, so maybe this is a good way to make up for it. But it just seems so bizarre to do it.

What's everyone's thoughts?

They couldn't leave the iconic series alone.

I'm excited. Roseanne is one of my favorite shows and I would love a little social commentary on the lower middle class in today's age. I just hope they ignore the last season and just continue on as if it didn't happen.

Yeah, same here. The final season of the show (I could also include the second to last one as well) was just down right awful. It radically took the show in such a wrong direction that it is hard to find any good things about either of them.

I actually didn't hate the series finale as much as everybody else did. I thought it was a pretty clever way to end the series, and it went a lot deeper then most normal sitcoms would be willing to go. I understand why so many fans do hate the series finale though, it did come off as a spit in the fact to fans of the show, retconning so many major aspects of the show. It seems like a cheap tactic and a cheap way to undo all the hatred that the last season had...

"Hey, all the the things that happened in the final season never really happened, and so many things that were seen throughout the show never happened either! Also, Dan really died awhile back!"

...but it was still unique in it's ending, so it deserves it's credit that it's owed.

I'd be supportive of this if Roseanne hadn't become a nutty wingbat in reality. It's going to be real hard to see her as a common middle class woman knowing that she is so far out of touch with real middle class people now.

You love this signature.

She was a wingbat back then. The show was funny enough that you can ignore Roseanne's behavior and just laugh at the show. So many of the other characters were hilarious and their interactions were precisely.

I hope they don't do a Dan comeback. Not unless they bring him back as a ghost.

This is my biggest concern as well. She hasn't known what it feels like to be poor for forty years. She obviously cannot have as much input as she did the first time around. They are going to need a good writer and a solid showrunner to keep her in check and I think the show will turn out fine. If she's running the show I feel it will probably turn out to be platform for political talk and not the common man/woman's problems.

@comic_book_fan:

The series finale would've worked a whole lot better if it wasn't a dream.
