Saw it tonight and thought it was okay.
It was dark and definitely different from the animated Disney film Sleeping Beauty.
They call me
"The Rubber Duck".

I think I would have liked the film better with anyone other than Angelina Jolie, whom I find to be one of the worst actresses in Hollywood. Kate Beckinsale or Elizabeth Hurley would have been my choices.

Angelina Jolie
![]() Eah, I don't know about this movie though. Retconning wings? She was innocent until she was bad? Sounds kind of lame. |

It sucked. They tried fixing what wasn't broke and tried to make her story tragic and failing. Also SHE DOESN'T TURN INTO THE DRAGON!!!!!

Also, if you purchase her Disney Infinity 2.0 figurine, beware of her tiny, tiny neck. Her head breaks off easily.

I rented this for my wife because she wanted to see it. My 2 year old son and I fell asleep on the couch about 20 minutes in, but she enjoyed it. The few minutes I did see had a clever take on how an innocent creature can be turned into a "villain" by the selfish pride of mankind.
I liken this to The True Story of the 3 Little Pigs book from back in the day. This is how Maleficent tells the story to her therapist. |
