Hope you all had a good Thanksgiving. I know I did. Nothing like a good turkey with Black Friday shopping going into the late nights. But of course, for each Thanksgiving, there's still the Virtual Console releases. Here's what we have for the week of 11/27/2014:

Wii U and 3DS Virtual Console:

Mighty Final Fight (NES)
$4.99

Wii U Virtual Console:

Mario Pinball Land (GBA)
$6.99

Mighty Final Fight makes it's official Virtual Console debut... meaning it wasn't on the original Wii Virtual Console. This is a very good choice as the original NES game is very rare, and goes for over a hundred dollars online. Aside from this VC release, the only other time in which Mighty Final Fight was re-released was on Capcom Classics Mini-mix for the GBA.

Along with the this week's releases, Nintendo is also holding some Cyber Monday deals on the eShop. Virtual Console titles such as Mario and Luigi: Superstar Sage, Wario Land 4, Metroid Fusion, Wario Land II, Wario Land 3, and Metroid II: Return of Samus are all 30% off. This sale goes on between November 27-December 2.

Oooh... Mighty Final Fight looks like a good one for me and the boys to play. Can you do multiplayer with it?

Nope. There's no multiplayer in Mighty Final Fight. Kind of a shame, since I can imagine this working well as a co-op title.

i liked mighty final fight for its cutesy looking art style, and nintendo power even made little illustrations for their walkthrough of it. even though it's only a few bucks i'll have to wait until i catch up with my money.

Week of 12/4/2014:

Wii U Virtual Console:

Fire Emblem (GBA)
$7.99

Lode Runner (NES)
$4.99

Yes, the Fire Emblem franchise may have grown in popularity after Fire Emblem Awakening was released for the 3DS. But the GBA title was the first in the series to have made it in North America after the inclusion of Roy and Marth in Super Smash Bros Melee. Some people do not know this, but Roy and Marth almost removed in the North American version of SSBM. Imagine how much different things would have been if that happened.

So that's where Marth comes from in SSB.

Yup. You can also catch Marth's debut game in Fire Emblem Shadow Dragon for the DS, which is a remake of the original Famicom Fire Emblem title, making it the original game's official western debut.

Week of 12/11/2014:

Wii U Virtual Console:

Crash 'n' The Boys: Street Challenge (NES)
$4.99

3DS Virtual Console:

Harvest Moon 3 (GBC)
$4.99

The third and final game in the Harvest Moon GBC trilogy is here at last. What's funny is that the Japanese version of Harvest Moon 3 had separate cartridges for the boy side and the girl side. The US version combines both of these games in that full package.
