We've got something really special this week for 4/17/2014. One game that's been highly anticipated since it's initial announcement last year.

Wii U and 3DS Virtual Console:

Super Mario Bros 3 (NES)
$4.99

Wii U Virtual Console:

F-Zero Maximum Velocity (GBA)
$6.99

Golden Sun (GBA)
$7.99

Of course the big highlight of this week is the release of Super Mario Bros 3. A game that Nintendo promised to have released by the end of 2013, and you can see they didn't keep that promise. Still, it's about time the game finally arrives as it's one of the best Mario games of all time, and has even paved the way for future titles, including some of the ones that's being made today. Some people do argue that either this game or Super Mario World as the best Mario game... but that's really more of a fanboy thing.

What's also nice is that for the 3DS version of the game, Nintendo added download play, so you can play with your friends in the Mario Bros battle mode.

I must say, this week is turning out to be a good week for Nintendo eShop releases. Well... except for Ubisoft holding a sale... because like I said before, I hate Ubisoft with a passion.

Yeah, it's a hard to choice to make between SMB 3 and SMW. But man, I loved SMB 3!

Week of 4/24/2014:

Wii U Virtual Console:

Super Mario Advance 3: Yoshi's Island (GBA)
$7.99

This is the last of Nintendo's roundup of GBA titles for the Wii U. Unfortunately, it's not very likely we'll ever get the SNES version of Yoshi's Island on Virtual Console due to it using the Super FX chip... so the GBA version is the next best thing we'll get. This was around the time Nintendo has gone full on George Lucas by re-releasing their older games onto newer consoles, and have extra features that would make people who already own the originals want to get the newer version. That, to me, was a disgustingly cheap money grub. And they still continue to do it to this very day, with Wind Waker HD being the most recent example.

Although, I will say the GBA versions of the Mario Bros arcade game was the best version I've seen of the classic titles, but that's about it. And despite my objections on Nintendo going the George Lucas route with some of their games, playing this version is still better than playing Yoshi's Island DS and Yoshi's New Island. Yup, the ex-Sega developers at Artoon/Arzest did a terrible job at trying to make a Yoshi's Island sequel.

Week of 5/2/2014:

Wii U Virtual Console:

Mach Rider (NES)
$4.99

3DS Virtual Console:

Megaman Xtreme (GBC)
$4.99

Unfortunately, for the Wii U Virtual Console, because there's not any more GBA titles planned for a while, then we're back to the usual NES repeat releases.

But the good news is that Mega May is starting, and Capcom is finally bringing in more of the Game Boy Mega Man titles all month long. Starting off with Mega Man Xtreme... the Game Boy Color spinoff to the Mega Man X subseries.

This week for 5/8/2014 offers a bit more of a diverse lineup.

Wii U Virtual Console:

Wario Land 4 (GBA)
$7.99

3DS Virtual Console:

Mega Man II (GB)
$2.99

Mega Man III (GB)
$2.99

Mega May continues with Capcom picking up where they left off when Dr. Wily's Revenge was released on the 3DS Virtual Console back in September 2011. Both of these games has been out on the Japanese Virtual Console since during Fall 2013 with Mega Man II arriving in September and Mega Man III arriving in October.

Week of 5/15/2014:

Wii U Virtual Console:

Adventures of Lolo (NES)
$4.99

3DS Virtual Console:

Mega Man IV (GB)
$2.99

After last week's return of GBA titles, we're back to yet another NES game. Of course, Adventures of Lolo is a game I recommend. It's a fun little puzzler made by HAL Laboratory, who is known for making the Kirby and Super Smash Bros series. It was one of the games I downloaded for the Wii Virtual Console, and therefore, I bought the Wii U version for a dollar due to the discount of already owning it for the original Wii.

I do hope that someday, Adventures of Lolo 3 gets released. That game still has not been released on the Wii Virtual Console. Of course, there's also the Game Boy version, which will hopefully be released on the 3DS Virtual Console sometime in the future.

Week of 5/22/2014:

Wii U Virtual Console:

Street Fighter Alpha 2 (SNES)
$7.99

3DS Virtual Console:

Mega Man V (GB)
$2.99

So, we got two Capcom games released for this week. Street Fighter Alpha 2 was released towards the end of the SNES lifespan, and I would NOT recommend that game. This game ran with the S-DD1 chip which really makes the graphics look really good, but you are going to be sitting through loading screen up the arse, all on a Super Nintendo cartridge. So, yeah, you're better off sticking with the Street Fighter Alpha Anthology on the Playstation 2.

Well, it's that time again for another week of Virtual Console titles. And I'm also sure that a lot of us are excited for Mario Kart 8. I know I am, that's a game I plan on getting as well as using it to register on Club Nintendo to receive a free Wii U game.

Of course, I refuse to bring up that one piece of shit overhyped game that was released this week... especially since I hate Ubisoft with a passion. Some who have been following the newest games would know what I'm talking about. Plus, what makes a game like that different from Grand Theft Auto? None whatsoever.

So, without further ado, here's this week's releases for the week of 5/29/2014:

Wii U Virtual Console:

Klonoa: Empire of Dreams (GBA)
$6.99

3DS Virtual Console:

Mega Man Xtreme 2 (GBC)
$4.99

This marks the last week of Mega May, and with a decent title to go out with. Megaman Xtreme 2 was the better game of the GBC Mega Man titles, and one that follows closer to the Mega Man Zero subseries that would be released for the Game Boy Advance.
