I'm looking forward to seeing it, if only for the fact that I'm a fan of the characters of Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman. The negative reviews do have me slightly concerned, but I'm awaiting judgment on it until I've actually seen it for myself.

Beyond the trailers and the critics there's something else going on here I would like to address.

Batman and Superman have moved out from under their Corporate owners, they and all other Superheroes belong to all of us now. Superheroes are a worldwide phenomenon that has been passed from generation to generation - speaking to us from the years following WWII.

Until this century there's been an unspoken agreement that Superheroes represent "the better angels of our characters", setting the stage for the villains to test our characters. It seems to me that this new generation of writers want a total rethink of the whole Superhero genre. Throw away the old playbook cuz today is a new Superhero landscape.

Comic books have left me behind, so I never saw Batman Vs. Superman coming.

I don't even understand the motivations behind this movie. I have never wanted to see these two guys go at each other. Reminds me of an old joke where two drunks at a bar argue over who can win in a one-on-one fight between two Superheroes - just pick any two Superheroes.

See, I have no interest in reading about Batman vs. Superman nor am I interested in seeing a movie about same. So I'll stay on the sidelines, end of story.

Except for one thing, each generation leaves its mark on the Superhero story and this generation has taken things to a dark and twisted place that will influence the following generations. Once you look at Superman with suspicious minds, how do you ever come back from that?

Edd, it all goes back to writers (of both comics and film) seeking new angles and trying to keep things fresh and different. I think that is a good thing, to a certain degree. But some changes, like... for example, A female Thor... a latino Spider-Man, a black Captain America... these things just come off as stupid to me. These changes are less about keeping things fresh, and more about keeping things politically correct. If Superman and Batman need to have it out in order to garner interest, that's one thing. But completely overhauling a character that has been enjoyed as-is for decades is a bridge too far for me.

With the release of each new Superhero movie mass media has reported from the same angle, the genre needs to change if it wants new fans.

OK, so what does change look like?

Ethnic/Gender identity only goes so far cuz you're still stuck with the same job - an interesting story.

Personally I'm still on a "Guardians of the Galaxy" high. The saga of the antihero always strikes a cord when done with the right amount of humor. That movie's popularity tells me that a lot of people want to have fun again.

I'm very hopeful that the upcoming "Inhumans" movie manages to accomplish what "Guardians" did. Unlike "Guardians", I actually have a little knowledge of the "Inhumans", and I'm a fan of Black Bolt.

I'm not strictly opposed to "dark" Superman. The Regime storyline sounds fascinating. But what I have seen of this movie leaves me totally uninterested.

As an aside, I haven't seen any commercials for the movie at all, except for one of those things that have a current movie character but is actually a car commercial -- three times.

I saw it on Easter with friends and it's not that good. I was bored through out it, I found only three good things with it.

Ben Afflek is the best Batman in live action that I have seen.

Gal is a great Wonder Woman

There is one action scene that was awesome.

I saw it yesterday. In my opinion it might be one of the worst superhero movies ever made.

Needless to say, I'm done with the DC Cinematic Universe. I thought Man of Steel was horrible, but I was willing to give them one other chance.
