so i may be thinking about moving from my parents again. i'm sorry, but as far as my mom is concerned she's made a poor choice in marrying my stepdad. it seems like every time i'm around him and he can't get something to work he takes it out on me. in a nutshell my stepdad's an unlikable jerk and my mom was stupid enough to marry him.

She's better off without him.

It's best for you to be able to step out on your own and be free of that kind of drama. Nowadays there are a great number of young adults (and some not so young) having to shack back up with the parents because of the poor economy. My closest friend (besides my wife) is among them.

How do you respect a stepparent? Not so easy.

I've never had a stepparent, but I've heard some pretty bad things about having one. Mostly about how they can't get along with their so-called children.

Yeah, it can be pretty bad. I never had one, but other people in my family have, and it's quite hard to watch and listen to.
