After two years and wayyyy too much money, the siding going up marks the end of our remodel.

In addition to Bethesda coming out to celebrate the Mothman Festival, even more great news for my area is that we will be getting a Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park

I am an Uncle once more. My brother had his third son (fourth child overall) yesterday. They have three boys and one girl, just like my wife and I. Must be something in the water here.

So, lately, I've been looking into methods on getting the best video quality out of retro video game system. And just recently, for my birthday, I purchased the XRGB-mini Framemeister. It is considered one of the best upscalers for retro gaming due to it's reduced input lag, and attention to detail when upscaling retro games. Not to mention the ability to add scanlines for those of you who are into that thing.

I made a comparison video showing the Framemeister in action by running the Sega Genesis using a SCART cable. I went with the Genesis as the only other video output I had for that system is RF... which is a really piss poor video signal that has not aged well at all. I would have just gotten a composite cable, but I ended up going the extra mile and bought a SCART cable for the system. And as you may see in this comparison video, the results is well worth it.

So I found out ABC is bringing back TGIF...... Does this mean we'll get a One Saturday Morning reboot? Also, are we back in the 90s?

As far as a One Saturday Morning reboot goes, I highly doubt it. Times have changed way too much since the 90s that I can't picture a Saturday morning revival being successful. There's way more accessible means of entertainment for kids than there has been even during the rise of cable television. And especially in this day and age when streaming provides pretty much endless entertainment for kids to watch, that there really isn't much of a reason to get up on Saturday mornings just to catch the latest entertainment, when it's pretty much available to view immediately afterwards. I understand the nostalgic feeling of getting up on Saturdays and watching all the cartoons that the big networks are playing, but those days are long gone. I can't imagine that same excitement being recaptured, and having the new generation of kids rushing to the TV on Saturdays the same way we did as kids in the era of streaming.

I mean hell, even regular TV is kind of losing that feeling as well, as timeslots pretty much doesn't mean as much as they used to. Even with primetime TV, just about any show that's airing is available for streaming online immediately afterwards. Weather you have a Hulu subscription, or it's buying the individual episode off iTunes, Amazon Video, and Google Play. In fact, I would say it's partially because of it that is why we've been seeing reboots and revivals. Like the aforementioned TGIF revival, as well as the short time Roseanne was revived.

Netflix is already doing one, though it's a darker take.
