I don't either. Actually I like Teen Titans GO!. But I can also see why people don't like it, especially if they were fans of the original Teen Titans cartoon... only to have that cancelled and this done in it's place.

Right now I feel that way about the Thundercats reboot that's on its way, but who knows... maybe I'll end up liking it. We'll see.

I used to think that Teen Titans GO! was just the production team trying to appeal to the lowest common dominator. I'm now beginning to feel like it's the producers attempt at trolling the fans of the original series while being wildly successful at the same time.

Exhibit A of this would be "The Return of Slade" episode.

I'm indifferent. The show has its moments and we've all had that show as a kid that was stupid fun.

So the A/C died in the house, Landlord won't replace it, it's been over 100 for about a week now and the wall units barely keep up and to top it all off the town I'm in smells of smoke.

I enjoy Teen Titans GO as well. Yeah, there are some moments where some of the jokes fall flat, and I'm not too keen on the fact that it's been overplayed on Cartoon Network, but I do find the show genuinely enjoyable. I also liked how the show makes pop culture references that older people like myself would understand. One moment in particular was when Cyborg shows his love to the Golden Girls. There was also another episode where they reference classic video games including Pac-Man and Super Mario Bros.

I think the main reason why people hated on the show in the first place is because "OMG!!! IT'S NOT THE ORIGINAL TEEN TITANS." The thing that people don't realize is that it's not even supposed to take place in the same universe as the original Titans. The creators of the show has expressed that over and over again. It's really more of a parody of the Titans more than anything. One other thing I like about the show is that as the show progressed, and continued to gain popularity (as well as more haters), the show began to poke fun at themselves. And of course, as mentioned before, the show has poked fun at the haters, and even massively trolled them in the most brilliant way possible. The Return of Slade episode is an example of that. There's also episodes like Wally T. and the episode where Control Freak shows the TTG characters the original Teen Titans.

One episode that aired recently that was brilliant is the 200th episode, where the show broke the fourth wall in a clever way I have never seen a show do before. Not only do they get to see the animator studio within the show, but they even had animated counterpart's of the show's voice-actors.

As for the movie. I might check it out. I'm not really a fan of superhero movies, and I honestly have been burned out by the genre. But this movie, like the way it parodies the original Teen Titans, seems to parody superhero films in general. I also liked the way Slade is referred to as Deadpool. It's a subtle way for DC to reference Deadpool without facing lawsuits from Marvel. It's also been said that if the movie does well, that there'd be a Season 6 of the original Teen Titans. Not sure if I believe that, though.

Other than the fact that it's nothing like ordinary Teen Titans, I think the whole "waffles" bit was a turn off for fans.

I enjoy all the retro pop culture references as well. Like the episode where the gang are back in school and Robin gives them all their "roles" to play. And the episode in which Cyborg has to listen to a cassette tape of "The Night Begins To Shine" to feel pumped. That episode is drenched in '80s aesthetics.

To be fair with the Waffles bit they did do that in the original. But it is a bit overplayed here.
