20753General suggestionsHey guys! Please feel free to call shenanigans if I'm the only one with this issue, but I have a hard time finding the older articles. It seems as is they were not featured/contest winners/or recent, they have faded into obscurity which is a shame because there is a lot of damn good writing on here.

What I'm suggesting is a more comprehensive way to browse our article library. Instead of being brought to a random article when clicking the "articles" button on the homepage, maybe we could have an index sort of like on RJ-

Article Index

One of the cool things is that it organizers articles by their ratings which could help the casual reader find some great articles.

What do you guys think? Would an article index be feasible?
echidna64May 20, 2015View
20752Tomorrowland
echidna64 wrote :
Early reviews not looking so hot for Tomorrowland -end quote
I've heard it's pretty good. But the third act throws it off. I'll still see it regardless. If anything for how it looks and a few actors in it.
ThatDudeintheHoodieMay 20, 2015View

20749Last Movie You WatchedEpisode III: Revenge of the Sith

7/10 Although it's the best of the prequel trilogy, it is still a mostly brain dead movie which is a shame because everyone behind the scenes is putting their hearts and souls into ship designs, creature designs, and more.

The main faults are the choppy storytelling, the terrible dialogue (Anakin's response to Obi Wan in their "final" battle- "In my point of view, the Jedi are evil"), and Hayden Christensen's wooden acting.

I can't wait for Episode VII
echidna64May 20, 2015View
20748Jem and the HologramsInteresting essay, Caps.

I don't categorically denigrate new versions. There's lots of cover songs I like. Some better than the originals. I haven't seen the new Mad Max movie yet but it looks awesome. TMNT have gone through many incarnations, and (latest movie notwithstanding) I like most of them better than the Fred Wolf cartoon.

But in allowing myself to have conflict with new versions, I don't have any inner conflict. It's OK to say something is bad. Andrew Garfield Spider-Man reboot: pointless. LoZ Skyward Sword: annoying AF. Jem & the Holograms movie: runs roughshod over major facets of the cartoon, whether or not Synergy is there.

blueluigi wrote :
It sounds like Stefanie said this as a damage control statement.
-end quote
Yup!

PS: Jem looks really happy and surprised about the prerecorded sound that's coming out of her guitar all by itself.

shakin steakMay 20, 2015View
20747Jem and the HologramsI find what Stefanie Scott said really hard to believe.

She is right about the fact that you can't show everything in the movie all in one trailer. Especially when they're trying to surprise you in the actual film. But at the same time, the trailer also needs to excite the audience. Even if what she says is true and the movie actually does turn out to be a faithful adaptation of the original show, the damage is already done, and the movie isn't likely to succeed because of it.

I know my first thoughts on the trailer that I mentioned earlier in this thread is that they're trying to target a different audience. Though that was when my mind was still processing what I've seen in the trailer. If it were under a different name, I'd still stand by it. But the fact of the matter is that people were expecting much better from the movie. I really do think that a movie based off Jem and the Holograms, if done properly, could turn out to be amazing. Especially when it's brought through in this modern digital age. The fact that it ended up being something different is a complete letdown.

I kind of hope that what she said is true and that the movie ends up being great, and that the person who made the trailer just royally screwed up. But from what I've seen, I can't really picture seeing this movie doing anything to redeem itself. It sounds like Stefanie said this as a damage control statement.
blueluigiMay 20, 2015View
20746How was your day?
vkimo wrote :
No gray hairs, just thinning ones. -end quote
Don't feel bad. My father's side has early balding and guess who's hair is already retreating? My brother is about 26 or 27 and is nearly bald.
ThatDudeintheHoodieMay 20, 2015View
