22006How was your day?My poor 7 year old boy was very upset tonight before we fell asleep, because he had earlier watched an episode of Pop Fiction (which we like watching sometimes), except this one was about Mortal Kombat. He was crying because he had witnessed one of the fatalities in the game during the show (I was not around when this happened).

I consoled him as best I could, explaining that it was just pixels on a TV screen and yada yada yada... you and I know that doesn't help when your 7. Thankfully we laid in bed and watched a longplay of Sonic The Hedgehog that took his mind off it, and he fell asleep.
Vaporman87Jul 14, 2015View

The key is finding foods that you like that fit into the program, and letting them replace those comfort foods. That was a biggie for me.

shakin steak wrote :
All right, I have an appointment with a podiatrist next week.
-end quote
Hope everything turns out okay for you shakin. 22003Retro-Daze let's get healthy!Have you tried walking/running barefoot? I read an excellent book called Born to Run which explains how man was designed to run barefoot and all the great benefits from doing so.

I go to the gym 5 days a week and have built a lot of muscle, but my diet has always been pretty shoddy. 22001Retro-Daze let's get healthy! All right, I have an appointment with a podiatrist next week. I have a foot issue of my own, and I just can't stand it any more. Years ago, I was running to catch a bus, and twisted something around the metatarsal area. Most of the time, it doesn't bother me. But once in a while, I step on it wrong and OUCH! Naturally, that only happens while I'm doing something that makes it really inopportune, like carrying ten gallons of sangria...
shakin steakJul 13, 2015View

21998Suddenly Summer Article ContestI think I may have finally found an author to act as judge for this year's Suddenly Summer contest. Yes, I realize Summer is on the downside now but, finding authors willing to help is difficult. And it really needs to be an author with published works - somebody with authority and respect for the subject matter. So, keep an eye peeled for the details on the contest, coming soon I think.

NOTE: This year's contest will parallel the latest Goodie Pack in theme... An R-rating sounds more like the appropriate rating.
-end quote
I don't think the AMOUNT of sex is bad... really aside from the tree scene, I don't know of ANY in this movie. Even the tree scene shows very little, but you get the idea of what's happening (again... eww!!!).
Vaporman87Jul 13, 2015View
21996Ghostbusters Reboot
shakin steak wrote :
Man. Back in the 80s we made fun of sequels because there were too many of them and they were cheap cash-ins. Remakes are making me bite my tongue.
-end quote
You and me both. The whole remake/rebirth craze is out of control. At least with a sequel, they tried expanding on the original, not replace it completely or attempt to revise the history established by the original.
Vaporman87Jul 13, 2015View
