Once the Pokemon craze hit, Fox Kids sold out to 4Kids and it became the Fox Box, showing nothing but Japanese adaptions. -end quote

And then, there was that Vortexx programming block, which showed Yu-Gi-Oh, Sonic X and stuff, Although, there was a Justice League cartoon, which wasn't an anime show.

Mr MagicApr 17, 2016View
31072Animaniacs Producer Blames Pokemon for Kids WB Downfall
echidna64 wrote :
I agree with Pokemon's influence on Fox Kids, but let's look at Kid's WB. I blame it on a lack of good original programming. Look at their slate starting in the year 2000, they are all terrible.

-end quote
I thought 2000 and 2001 were still good. You still had the Superman and Batman animated series airing, you had some of the better late 90's cartoons like MIB and Batman Beyond, as well as Looney Tunes and Animaniacs. Kind of like what you see in the Pokemon The First Movie VHS Opening that was from around the year 2000.

I felt like 2002 is when everything really began going to crap for Kids WB. It appeared that the great shows that were airing just a year previously were now gone.
Rick Ace RhodesApr 17, 2016View

31070M. Night Shyamalan brings back Tales from the Crypt
I can't see this series doing well without Cryptkeeper.

This is going to feel too much like the Friday the 13th series without Jason Voorhees.Mr MagicApr 17, 2016View
31069M. Night Shyamalan brings back Tales from the CryptIf it doesn't have the crypt keeper, and isn't a new 'story' each episode or anything which made it like the original. Then this isn't going to be Tales from the Crypt. It's going to be something thrown together by Shyamalan with the hopes of dragging viewers into this trap by the popularity of it's namesake. Linux_SageApr 16, 2016View

31065M. Night Shyamalan brings back Tales from the CryptI might check this out. I have fond memories of watching the '90s series as a kid. The Crypt Keeper not being in it is disappointing, but I can deal with it. The optimist in me hopes that things might get worked out so that he appears should the show get a second season, but him not appearing isn't a deal breaker for me. The idea of serialized storytelling rather than anthology stories is going to be really different, but I understand the decision to go in that direction considering that television has become more serialized in recent years. I think that whether or not that format will work for this show as well as the anthology format worked for the classic version will depend on how well the story is written. I'm not that familiar with M. Night Shyamalan, so I can't comment on whether or not his involvement will be a good thing or a bad thing.

SupermanApr 16, 2016View
