32923Last Movie You WatchedHail, Caesar<div><br></div><div>3/10</div><div><br></div><div>I know that studio bigwigs prolly got some extra chuckles at this parody of old hollywood but I found it to be a complete waste of time. The plots go nowhere and all of the celebrity cameos are in the trailer. Literally, Jonah Hill has one scene. Channing Tatum has 2 scenes. Scarlett Johanssen has 2 scenes and that's all.&nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>Also, the "mystery" of who kidnapped George Clooney's character, I had guessed before even seeing the movie. Again the trailer gives it away.&nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>I like the Coen brothers but this was a dud that they sold to us all gold. I would have been very mad if I had paid money to see this.&nbsp;</div>echidna64Jan 09, 2017View

It's amazing how the feel of this cartoon changes as soon as Southern wolf opens his mouth - it's almost like a different cartoon from what you expected.</div><div><br></div><div>The Three Little Pups is one of those cartoons where dialog forms the best jokes as Southern Wolf actually talks to the audience with a running commentary. Th voice of Dawes Butler sets up each scene, then he reacts to the result - truly funny stuff.</div><div><br></div><div>One of the outstanding jokes of the 1960's was Paul Henning using the old western chase scene between the the sheriff and the bank robbers, including the music track, on his hit comedy show, "Green Acres". This was the TV show that was always on when Arnold the Pig paid a visit to Oliver and Lisa Douglas.</div><div><br></div><img width="640" height="480" src="https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Co8RELeXEAA9wJx.jpg">eddstarrJan 09, 2017View
32920Baddest Disney Villain<blockquote rel="eddstarr"><b>eddstarr wrote :</b> <i><div style="font-weight: normal;"><br><div><i>"Oh my - what an unfortunate accident!"</i>&nbsp;<img src="http://www.retro-daze.org/images/smilies/MavLaughOutLoud.gif" style="font-size: 10pt;"></div></div> </i><b>-end quote</b></blockquote><br><br>I will give you that edd. Scar has style and plants the seeds of doubt. He also has plausible deniability. After all he didn't kill Mufasa a stampeding herd of wildebeests did. Unfortunate accident indeed. But still we are talking about the baddest Disney villain. Animal kingdom baddy sure right up there with Shere Khan. Versus all the other villains not so much. Even the source inspiration Claudius from Hamlet kills his brother to become king. But does he rot the flesh from living people and turn them into his own undead army? <br><br>The Judge from Hunchback is evil. But then again the source inspiration has Quasimodo crawling into Esmeralda's crypt to cuddle with her skeleton because she ended up with that tool captain of the guard (a mixed character from two in the book Captain Phoebus and Husband Gringore), she was then hanged by the judge (who Quasi kills in retribution by tossing him from a tower) and ole hunchy had to wait until she was dead to be with her. He stays until he starves to death. Wow Victor Hugo some happy ending. In fact Hugo also wrote Les Miserables, I don't think that dude could write a happy ending if his life depended on it. Well out of the works I've read anyways. Even still we are comparing evil acts by characters to evil beings, evil incarnate. <br>NLoganJan 09, 2017View

The kind of villain that can "talk you to death". Personally, I admire bad guys that make it all seem effortless. Scar is like that, he makes evil seem spontaneous when in fact he carefully thought out every move. Scar knows the power of words and can plant the seeds of doubt in a victim's mind, then kick back and watch his deed grow results!</div><div><br></div><div>Some villains are too obvious - they will push you off the highest balcony.</div><div><br></div><div>I like the guys that use the strategically place banana peel near an open window:</div><div><br></div><div><i>"Oh my - what an unfortunate accident!"</i>&nbsp;<img src="http://www.retro-daze.org/images/smilies/MavLaughOutLoud.gif" style="font-size: 10pt;"></div></div>eddstarrJan 09, 2017View

Betty Davis gives me nightmares. Any doubts on that score just watch her in What Ever Happened to Baby Jane. I promise you will never hear the Kim Carnes song Betty Davis Eyes in the same light again when thinking of the lyrics: She'll take you home, it whets her appetite. Or she'll take a tumble on you. Roll you like you were dice until you come out blue. She starves her wheelchair bound sister, serves her own pet parakeet as food, imitates her voice on the phone telling the people she called for help not to come and locks her sister away before beating the servant to death with a hammer.<br><br><img src="/images/postImages/1483930905BettyDavis.gif" style="width: 413px; height: 310px;"><br><br>I watched Watcher in the Woods as a very young and impressionable child at daycare/summer camp where it was shown because it was a disney film. I don't think anyone was prepared for the straight out creep factor of the old woman watching and knowing how the girl disappeared. She did not die as was believed. Her fate was worse.<br><br>As villainous as Scar is (and he seems very dark with a great voice performance by Jeremy Irons) to me he is just doing natural lion behavior. All male lions when they come of age attempt to take over a pride of their own and kill or drive off the competition (including their offspring). What makes Scar great is that he is not the strongest so he has to wait and bide his time to take over with cunning. He is past his prime however his intellect and Machiavellian scheming still make him a threat. However to me he is not evil per say, jealous yes, spiteful yes, mean yes, evil no not really. Natural animal behavior (aside from cross species teaming up for a power play). Thinking about Mufasa killing the previous protector of the pride and possibly devouring the cubs of his predecessor gives a whole new meaning to the circle of life. <br><br>Now comparing say the Headless Horseman well his laugh says it all, evil to the core who would not hesitate an instant before severing your head. Or the Evil Queen (who has evil in her name) delights in misery and is crazy enough to take pleasure in teasing a long dead prisoner who died of thirst with water at arms reach. "Thirsty? Have a drink!" She cackles as she kicks the pitcher long since empty at the withered skeleton of the long dead caged prisoner. <br><br><img src="/images/postImages/1483927971evilwitch.jpg"><br><br>Malevolent ghosts and evil witches aside they pale in comparison to the Horned King a lich necromancer whose goal is to kill everything living with an army of the undead.<br><br><img src="/images/postImages/1483928446hornedking2.jpg" height="164" width="388"><br><br>But even he pales to Chernabog who is evil personified. He is a dark god who rules the night and commands legions of the dead, demons of the underworld, and terrifying creatures during the dead of night. He is only banished by the light of day.<br><br><img src="/images/postImages/1483928187chernabog2.jpg" height="217" width="386"><br>NLoganJan 09, 2017View
