991ArticlevkimoThey should have used the LEGO approach with flags which was a piece of stiff cloth with a hole at either end of the top on bottom. Simply slide the mast down the holes and done! Placing stickers or decals on toys is an article unto itself!Rad Retro Ads Feb 08, 2014View
990ArticleMissMpikachulover, I remember getting some Tiny Toons valentine cards. I loved them so much. I really miss Tiny Toons. That was such a great show. Now Marsupilami sounds interesting, I'm not really recalling it. Vaporman, yeah, these images are totally from Jim Lee's art in the comics. lol How did the search go for any Godzilla Valentine's Day cards? I'm sure they had to have had them. For the Love of V-Day! 989ArticleMissMI have many fond memories of sharing valentines with classmates. (Which will totally be getting a write up before V-Day. lol) It really was a fun time and there were so many themed valentine cards! I was a magnet for anything scented though. I was obsessed. 988ArticleMissMVaporman, I've heard so many people talking about the Radio Shack commercial. I feel like it was the hit of this year's Super Bowl ads. And yes, the Whatchamacallit ad is just amazing isn't it? I also never had a reason to own a pager as the only people I'd talk to were my parents and brother, and I lived with them. lol I'm glad you enjoyed these commercials! pikachulover, I totally agree. There are so many commercials that just burrow themselves into my brain. And I have to agree, the 1984 Apple ad is a bit overrated now. I don't really get excited about it. Your high school assemblies sound completely amazing! I wish those had been video taped or something for us all to see. It sounds absolutely cool. Super Bowl CommercialsFeb 08, 2014View
987ArticleVaporman87You know it!!! And while we're talking about it, another thing that caught my eye was the Castle Greyskull flag. That flag was constructed by simply wrapping the sticker around the pole, and the two sides would adhere to each other. You only got ONE shot to get it right, or your flag would be messed up forever. I didn't get it right. Rad Retro Ads Feb 08, 2014View
986ArticlevkimoHaha excellent call. Only a certified retrodazer would have caught that one.Rad Retro Ads Feb 08, 2014View
985ArticleVaporman87I noticed in that ad, that Zodac is hanging out in Snake Mountain with the baddies. They apparently were dividing them up based on the titles given them by Mattel, and not by the roles they played on the cartoon. Rad Retro Ads Feb 08, 2014View
984ArticlevkimoI forgot to mention it, but the MOTU ad at the top was pretty shameless in exploiting a mother's love for her child. "While he's still a child"?!Rad Retro Ads Feb 08, 2014View
983ArticlepikachuloverMy friend used to have a huge crush on Gambit. I don't think I would have given X-Men cards in 1993. I usually went for something boys and girls would like. I think in 93 I either gave Tiny Toons or Marsupilami. For the Love of V-Day! Part 2Feb 07, 2014View
981ArticlepikachuloverI remember Kissing Koolers. They weren't that great for a lip product. I remember I saw some for sale in a catalogue and begged my mom to buy me one. Rad Retro Ads Feb 07, 2014View
