Yeah. This is something that would even appear in the actual movies. With Godzilla wading in the ocean like he's touching the bottom. This was prevalent until the later films (millennium Godzilla).

I recently came across the script for the now defunct, planned sequel to the crappy 1998 Godzilla film. This script is far better than the original movie's, but still cheesy and involving the same uninspired characters. Still, it gives you a look at what might have been had the trilogy of films that were planned come to fruition.

The mistake I always see with creature features (Transformers included) is they try to intertwine the lives of people in with the giant robots/monsters. For once, just let the big guys story told.

There was a time when Godzilla was just a little lizard. And now...

The "official" teaser trailer is up for the 2014 Godzilla film: 

 That trailer is absolutely amazing. I'll be shocked if this movie is anything short of awesome.
