I figured as much. It'll be interesting to see how the two compete in weeks 2/3 respectively. Godzilla beat out X-Men in it's first weekend.

The big G has brought in almost $400,000,000 worldwide now. King of the Monsters is King of the Theaters.

If I were the Big G, I think I would make the demand that someone bring back Oreo Cereal.

Yes! YES! A thousand times... YES!!!

And if Legendary does a movie featuring Kong, called "Skull Island", how likely is it that the two could face each other in a "Avengers" style get-together movie down the road?

Haha that sounds like fun, but isn't Godzilla like 20 times larger than King Kong?

I just watched the movie and thought it stunk...

The smoke and mirrors fight scene left me squinting for another 15 minutes after the movie ended. For me it was no different than a Transformers movie. Lots and lots of military stock footage followed by some brief mayhem. I feel like the director gave Aaron Taylor Johnson a pineapple, told him to keister it and that was his character motivation. The movie had a lot of build up which would support the sequel franchise.

All in all it makes me appreciate the awesomeness that Pacific Rim is. PR doesn't take it self too seriously and thus delivers. Godzilla tried to infuse 9/11, Hurricane Katrina and giant monsters and it just didn't work for me.

I am curious though to what part Hoodie and Echidna were alluding to, care to divulge guys?

The thing that killed it for me was that as soon as they were about to fight or were fighting we'd go right back to the humans who were dull and boring as ever. That is what I was referring to.

Oh yeah, the best fight footage was briefly shown on the TV when the kid was watching CNN.

What they did leading up to it is what killed it for me and I walked out. Even if the final fight was awesome. What I had to sit through would not make up for it. I'll wait until the end of the weekend to get into detail on it since I consider what they did a spoiler.

I know exactly which part you are talking about and it was complete bull****

What was the spoiler?
