Would Pleasantville (1998) count?
It is set in the 1990s, but the kids get sent into a 1950s tv show and have to get back. Since they only enter a tv show's image of 1950, the story is technically is still framed in the 90s since Don Knotts' tv repairman interacts with them, but the majority of the story comes from the cultural clash in old-timey times. The scenario seems like something people here would like, but the criteria for this thread is up for debate. If it doesn't count, then just I'll just put Titanic (1997), Sleepy Hollow (1999), The Patriot (2000), and Gladiator (2000). Calling them old makes my eye twitch. |
