Basically what I mean is movies that were made a long time ago and set in certain time periods. Like "Oh, Brother Where Art Thou?" from 2000. It was set in 1930s Mississippi. Quote Disable Sigs "Magic can happen to you."

One that comes to mind is The Private Life of Henry VIII, played by the great Charles Laughton. Filmed in 1933 which of course focused on the Tudor era of Britain
Wir sprechen zu viel, aber wir sehen zu wenig.

Stand by Me, which was released in 1986, was set in the 50s.
"Magic can happen to you."

Prolly one of the greatest examples is A Christmas Story (1983) which is set in 1950's america.

1940s, echidna.
You can tell by the music being played on the radio in Ralphie's home that there's a 1940s atmosphere. "Magic can happen to you."

Remember that old movie made famous by Warner Bros. and the Looney Tunes gang?
They called it, "The Scarlet Pumpernickel" Well it turns out that the movie being made fun of is, for actor Leslie Howard, one of the most amazing old films I've ever seen. From 1934, "The Scarlet Pimpernel" stands as one of the Great Films of the 20th Century. Leslie Howard and Merle Oberon - just look at the two of them. They don't look real! The movie is available at the Internet Archive and all over YouTube. One of my professors at Arizona State University convinced me to give this old movie a chance - and I'm glad I did. Save a copy and watch the whole film when your time allows! |

I like drama films, so I might watch it someday.
The 1995 film Casino spans the years 1973-1983. Watch this at your own risk. "Magic can happen to you."

Definitely one of the best westerns I've seen/owned!
Gone with the Wind (1939) centers around what happened before, during and after the Civil War. Of course, this movie is fictional. "Magic can happen to you."
