I can't stop the vibe guys!
My brain is in full 80's mode now, so get ready to: "Stop To Love" - Luther Vandross - 1986 |

Luther was a heavy hitter for sure. Such a great voice.

Now, come on back with me to, The Summer of 1981.
Say hello to one of my favorite humans - Kenny Rogers. You wouldn't link Kenny with 80's vibe but Kenny Rogers is one of the guys that made the early 80's so much fun. Kenny was Everywhere! No television and no radio was safe from Mr. Rogers, lol! But give him credit, Kenny was so friendly, so funny and so full of life that his enthusiasm seemed to spill over into everything he did. But when Dottie West and Kenny Rogers were on camera together, it was magic - Laugh Out Loud Magic! These two were a riot together, almost as much fun as one of those new-fangled arcade games. Even after all these years 1981 comes back to me by calling up an old favorite song from that year. Here's proof that Love Songs don't have to be sappy. I'm gonna fix my time machine one of these days. |

Kenny and Dolly were quite the duo also. True, Kenny Rogers was everywhere in the 80's. I love the caricature of him that Will Sasso played in Mad TV. So dumb and not at all like Kenny Rogers. I think that's what made it funny though:

I originally meant for this to be a Valentine's Day thread, but whatever.
I guess it can be a year-round thread too. "If you think a 401K is your mother-in-law's bra size, you might be a redneck."

Vaporman87 wrote : YES! Loved Will Sasso as Kenny, I was gonna add this but you beat me to it. Will was so funny I was sure he was gonna have his own show. Seems to me that after Will left MadTV that's when Bobby Lee joined the show. |
