Hmm. Perhaps I should reiterate rule number 1, that everyone only has ONE guess per round. So it may be wise to keep that guess in your pocket for a bit until more hints land.

That being said, hints follow no specific formula, but in general they could be negative (as in discouraging you from guessing a particular year or years), or they could be positive (dropping some info that is exclusive to the year being guessed, or exclusive to a certain period of years including the one being guessed).

I didn't forget that.  I guess I missed the negative part though. I was too busy reading about Mego. Also, I thought there would only be two hints per round.

Hint - Stay far, far clear of the years before Hope first appears.
That seems to rule out anything before 1977 when Star Wars A New Hope came out.

Hint - The year Mego says "Uh oh" is a no-no.
This seems to allude to the Mego toy corporation going under in 1982, the clues says that's a no-no though, so I can see where Shake and Hoodie were going.

Definitely need a few more clues!

But Star Wars wasn't called A New Hope until 1981...

I was not aware of this, however the clue was sufficient to get you guys headed on the right track.
