I told them the articles must adhere to the same basic standards as our others (retro/some pics/about 700 words, etc.). I didn't tell them they would be "visible" to most of us though.
When was this article published? This guy has a few, all with no comments or ratings.

Even when he's talking about a videogame there, this quote has the power to summarize my entire school age in one sitting. We're not worthy "Even though I'm cheating like a btard, this is still surprisingly hard" - Ross Scott.

Super Mario 2 is a great game. Just like Zelda 2. I am tired of people denigrating them. Anyone who calls those games black sheep is a revisionist. At the time, with only two games in each series, these sequels were just as wanted as their predecessors, maybe even more. People were going absolutely insane for them.
1988 was Nintendo at its highest peak of popularity and excitement until Wii Sports. And it was more sustained than that. with much more than just one game, and they had no competition to speak of. Not to mention all the merchandise that sold like crazy. And Mario 2 and Zelda 2 led all of that. Also, yes we all know the story of Doki Doki Panic...but! It was made from a shelved demo/prototype intended for Mario. This is about the same level of development as when Super Mario 1 had a gun in it. So some may discount this story. But I say Super Mario 2 USA, in it's very earliest stages, was in fact intended to be a Mario game. |
