For those who watch Turner Classic Movies: I learned on Fox News tonight that right before they start a movie on TCM, they're going to have a lecture on things that are in the movie that might offend some people like violence, swearing, and drug use. Usually before the movie starts, they show what the rating of the movie is and what's in it in about 10 seconds! Keep it simple! No need for a lecture!

It sounds to me like Fox misunderstood what TCM is doing... They aren't lecturing people, they're having coversations about these issues within the context of time period and other social implications while also showing the full movie (that is, *not* censoring it, which is the baffling decision some companies make). It's part of a series they are airing called Reframed: Classic Films in the Rearview Mirror. TCM has always pesented movies with commentary in this way. I'm actually quite looking forward to the series.

Yeah. At least they aren't just pretending the movies don't exist. Even movies from the '80s that I love have some things in them that are unsettling to a lot of people today. Thankfully they still air the films. I'd rather they do something like this than just edit them or not show them at all. onipar wrote :

I've been binge watching a lot of the Pokemon Hoenn era. Brings back a lot of good childhood memories. I think this was my favorite era of Pokemon. Even more than the original. *Insert funny signature here*

Make Room Everybody! Time for Eddie's Retro-Daze Mega Haul!
Happy Birthday to Me - I'm 64 years old now, and just look at all the cool R-D goodies!!! I'll take some time away from work and get the NES-CE all hooked up. I'll be a GameMaster!
Let's celebrate with a spin of the Original Version of "Chick-A-Boom", from the Rolling HeadStones on "The Groovie Goolies and Sabrina", from 1970. The Goolies original version is quite different from the 1971 single release version by Richard "Daddy Dewdrop" Monda, who created and performed songs for Filmation's Saturday morning lineup. I've grown very fond of this Goolies version, Daddy Dewdrop dosen't "slew" his voice, singing in a more flat manner that's actually quite nice to hear! |

That sucks. As long as I can still download what I have already purchased I am alright. Benjanime wrote :
