Classic games that deserve modern remakes
In this day and age of video games, you'll never know what games of yesteryear you'll end up seeing get remade with some shiny new graphics. Some remakes have a better chance of execution in replicating the charm, while others may not, but it can still leave speculation on what could come next. I'd rather not go into the ones that are too predictable, so I'll pick only the ones that one wouldn't think to see.
Startropics
Sure it's a Legend of Zelda clone that was exclusive outside of Japan, but it was still from Nintendo, and don't let that fool you, because it's a truly remarkable game for its time as you explore different islands to help Mike Jones find his uncle. Fans still remember that neat little secret in the instruction manual that gave you the secret code to progress by dipping the manual in water.
Altered Beast
Sure the arcade and Sega Genesis originals were fairly short, but if the right staff was on board to remake the game I'm sure they could extend it to at least 10 or more hours with exclusive new levels and possibly a "level up" system to add game hours, similar to Radiant Silvergun on the Sega Saturn. And possibly, online multiplayer if online connections will be fast enough for two players.
Jerry Glanville's Pigskin Footbrawl
In my "Obscure Gaming Legacy" article series, Jerry Glanville's Pigskin Footbrawl was a Sega Genesis game from Midway that I mentioned that you shouldn't miss out on. The game featured the game of football set in medieval times with cartoon-like logic going with it, such as obstacles on the ground, and seeing players fight each other on the field, sadly with the Warner Bros. buyout of the company, it's kind of hard to see getting brought back.
Garfield: Caught in the Act
Garfield: Caught in the Act originally began as an ambitious video game from Jim Davis to Sega, as with the Sega Channel, Sega's "download a game with a subscription" service apparently showed off some levels that the final game didn't have. In the final game it featured levels based on horror, a 1940s black and white theme, and even prehistory, while the unreleased levels would have had Garfield in a Robin Hood-like area, and a Viking themed stage. Perhaps if Sega and Jim Davis could possibly team up again, maybe seeing a full complete game could happen.
MDK
Shiny Entertainment's wacky yet dark alien shooter from 1997 certainly deserves more credit from their more less remembered titles of their past, having you take the role of Kurt Hectic, a former janitor now turned intergalactic hero with a sniper rifle attached to his head, MDK was innovative in having a sniper scope that floored critics with its one mile radius of zooming in on a target, all while having silly gadgets and weapons like "the world's smallest nuclear explosion" and an inflatable decoy balloon. It got a sequel, but it just didn't have the same charm.
Beetle Adventure Racing
Nobody really talks about this game anymore, do they? Developed by the now defunct Paradigm Entertainment, Beetle Adventure Racing had players racing in Volkswagen Beetle cars, all differently colored while attempting to take the lead on a handful of unique racetracks. and it was an exclusive Nintendo 64 title. Aside from racing, four players could also play "Beetle Battle" similar to the car combat of Twisted Metal, and it was a unique multiplayer title of the console.
Twisted Metal 1 & 2
Speaking of car combat, it would be nice to see the first two games of the Twisted Metal series getting brought back with a shiny coat of graphical paint, as they are considered by fans to be the best of the series (whereas 989 studios didn't quite pull it off after the original developers were on break from working on sequels), maybe the unreleased ending sequences of the first game could get brought back too, just not cheesy as they once were.
What classic games would you like to see get a remake? Leave a comment and as always, see you next article!

Video games are a product of the entertainment industry. Most of the gaming contracts are not following legal laws. This is true since the gaming industry is a new thing in our society. We don't yet have the proper mechanisms and legislation that will regulate the terms and agreements for all games coming from the different companies. Also, I don't like how big gaming platforms like steam restrict their players to sell the accounts and their profiles to other people at online platforms like https://skincashier.com, I don't find this fair.

Oh, man. Imagine if Twisted Metal got remade. It'd be more hardcore than the original.

@onipar
i would also recommend looking for the PC version, as it added a new space level!

I'd love to see that complete Garfield game! I have never even played the original release, which I am about to rectify. A new Altered Beast would be cool too. I've been doing sort of the opposite, where I'm playing newly released 8-bit and 16-bit games. The one I'm playing now is called Odallus: The Dark Call (2015).

New/updated Twisted Metal and Garfield games would be great. I'd also like something along those lines for Guardian Heroes.

There are so many 90's games I love and that deserve to be updated, but only if the original charisma and classic gameplay can be intact. Gems like Gunstar Heroes, the amazing Radiant Silvergun you mentioned, Chrono Trigger, among countless others.
There were some of them that got a sequel but they were mediocre, like the PlayStation 2 version of Altered Beast and the newer polygonal Sonic games. Sonic Mania was an awesome exception though.
Another charismatic, wonderful article to warmth our heart, bringing the best of the gaming eras, old and new. I love you, my sweet @Benjanime.❤❤
