Almost all of the popular gamers on YouTube have this game already and they've gotten a real kick out of its replay value along with the new features. I decided to pick it up myself and I'm enjoying the fun. The only downside is how they handled the battle mode, in which you take out the racers.... on regular race tracks only. Other than that I think it's given people a good reason to purchase a Wii U now. My favorite feature, as you can see is the "watch highlights" option at the end of a race, in which you can edit and share bits and pieces of what stood out to you in the track you just went through, such as hitting enemies with a shell or performing a stunt. You can then share these highlights onto YouTube in either a 30 or 60 second video by uploading them straight from the game.

I picked this up on Thursday, which was the only evening we got to play it together (because Friday and Saturday we went on a trip to King's Island).

So far, we really enjoyed it. It was a lot of fun racing with three for four of us. I also like the replay feature as you mentioned. And that the Wii Controller player can view the map and locate other racers (which could be considered an unfair advantage perhaps?).

well to me having a map (as well as showing the items that the opponents have) can be a big help for the one player cup races, especially 150cc. once you see someone with a blue shell you'll want to purposely wait in second so it'll go for the computer in front instead, but i agree that it may be unfair with local multiplayer

I also like how they incorporated the "8" as an item on the track that can be acquired (though it is turned horizontally to look like an infinity symbol) and it gives you ALL of the available power ups/weapons at once.

they did the same exact thing for mario kart 7, yet there are still some people that don't understand the numbered title, lol

We downloaded it from the Nintendo Eshop last week, they have a deal right now if you register the game with Club Nintendo you get a download code for another game, free. Your choices for the free game are New Super Mario Brother U (we already had that with the console purchase), Pikmin 3 (Kids weren't really that interested), The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Walker HD (Kids don't like Zelda yet, maybe too hard), and Wii Party U (That's the one they choose, it's pretty fun). 

I play Mario Kart 7 on the 3DS with a friend. Funny story is that he kept saying he was gonna win against me. Well who he was going up against was someone who always popped in Mario Kart when bored if it wasn't Pokemon.
