By eddstarr At 07:36 On 31 January 2016 1921 Posts Timelord in Training	OMG, where do I begin? The original Robocop will never be equalled, it's a prime example of the magic of movies. In fact it's so good I can't imagine 1987 without Robocop. The movie has transitioned into a sort of time capsule as it captured the "spirit" of the times in a way only a movie can. Robocop is a mix of violence and humor in over the top doses. Even after all of these years fans can still examine this movie scene by scene teasing out gems. Memorable lines are too many to get with a single viewing and few films have held up as well as Robocop. Extra credit for using stop-motion animation for the ED-209 robot, sma adds that nice "creepy" feel that computer animation doesn't provide. How lucky I am to have experienced Robocop as an original theater release. That audience never expected to have such a crazy romp, and neither did I. And to fun started right from the opening scene with that crazy newscast, talk about Weird TV: Quote Disable Sigs

I would not have been old enough (13 - 14) by most standards, but just can't say for sure how I first experienced this one. It's not for the squeamish for sure. Good movies always capture an indefinable quality of the times when they were made. For that reason I prefer all new projects. Wonder how fans of the Robocop redo feel when they see the original?
