Used to watch some of this sort of stuff as a kid. Didn't quite understand it at the time but was still funny to me

Wir sprechen zu viel, aber wir sehen zu wenig.

if i watched it as a kid i possibly would've only been entertained by their gumby short bit. i had a hard time getting into live action shows before i was a teen.

Forgive me, I'm still getting over the New Gumby series from 1988. His little sister was cool.

The Gumby riff was the first I've ever seen of MST3K. I wanted to see some full episodes at the time I watched it, but didn't have the DVD sets, and couldn't find any full episodes on the internet. Not to mention the Sci-Fi Channel had already removed MST3K from their schedule by the time the show piqued my interest.

Man, how times have changed. The show now is very easily accessible on the internet. This is partially thanks to the internet, and even Shout Factory for bringing the show out there even to newer audiences. All that I think helped with the interest of bringing back MST3K for a new season.

I watched the first two episodes of the new MST3K season last night. It feels like a step in the right direction. I love the new theme song they used The production values are higher, but still keeps the cheesy miniature figures part of the set. Jonah is a great host, and up there with Mike as one of my favorites. Though, some of the new bots voices need some getting used to... especially Gypsy's. Also, if there's one other thing I don't really like is how during some of the riffs, they would have other things going on in the theater, such as Tom Servo flying in the middle of the screen, and Gypsy dropping in at random times to place Cambot on one of the seats. To me, that tends to be distracting from the riffing of the film.

But other than a few of the gripes I had, I still enjoy this new season. It feels as if the show never left the airwaves as it still feels just as fresh now as it was before it went off the air. It's another aspect that makes me appreciate the internet even more, as projects like MST3K: The Return might not be picked up by another network, and that having it be funded by fans of the show through Kickstarter helped made this a reality. This is something I don't think we would have seen even in the early 2000s.

For those with Netflix access, not only is the Turkey Day “Gauntlet” available, but also the second new season released today

The Gauntlet IS the second season. It's one storyline where Jonah is forced to sit through six of the worst movies ever back to back. It's basically MST3K's equivalent of the Infinity Gauntlet.

Ahhh. So it is. That’s really odd, because I saw a promo stating the reason that The Gauntlet came out on Sunday was because Season Two was coming out on Thanksgiving.
